Although Lightroom is fantastic for editing my photographs, it is not efficient for taking the edited photographs and ordering them for a presentation. Furthermore, I am not happy with the Slideshow function in LR. Please suggest some inexpensive software that will allow me to order my photographs and present them to an audience on a large monitor.

What kind of presentation? An academic lecture? A funeral? A vacation snapshot display? A professional travelogue? How large a monitor?.....
I downloaded ProPhoto and have been working with it for about an hour. I have one question at this time. ProShow requires that you put your files on a timeline. For each photo or group of photos it requires that you specify how long you want the photo to be displayed. Since I do live narrations and allow interruptions for questions, I must be able to change slides on demand and keep each one on the screen as long as necessary. Is there a way to override the automatic progression function in ProPhoto? If that is not possible, I will need suggestions for another program. Thank you.
By the way, does anyone know for a fact whether or not the problems concerning Lightroom Classic CC and Photoshop CC not working properly with the Catalina OS has been resolved and if it is safe to make the upgrade to Catalina.

I'm presenting an alternative for you if you don't find a slideshow program you like. Also, curious as what you did not like about the LR Slideshow Module as what you do sounds pretty straight forward. I do agree that it is very basic. If you are using the Adobe LR/PS package for photographers you also get access to a program called Spark. In your Cloud Adobe icon go to Social Media and then Spark. Launch Spark, there is no additional fee for its use. Click on the + sign at the top and a row of choices will come up. Pick the Web Pages. You can put any number of images and text into the web page you design. This page will be kept in the "cloud" and you can access it from anywhere for use. You can also download as a pdf, put into Facebook or an email if you want to. The software does not come with directions so to learn it you will need to simply poke around. I'm including a link here to show you a quick little page I put together. The options are endless. Storing it on the Adobe server is nice because then it does not matter how large your presentation gets, but of course you would need internet. Just a thought. https://spark.adobe.com/page/I9lPmgsfWs3Ob/. Also, if you use a Mac FotoMagico is for Macs and is a program with many more options than the Adobe LR software. You can ind this program on the web or at the Apple store.

Thanks for the reply. My problem with LR is that making the slides go in the order I want to present them is difficult and requires more time then I want to spend playing games.
