I agree that a good shop is very important. Here in Portland, Oregon we have Pro Photo who go out of their way to help ... letting you try lenses etc answering what i can only think are stupid questions .. yes .. a great shop is crucial ..

Visiting the B&H facility in person is on my bucket list.

If I visited them, I would leave my credit cards at home. Too many temptations.

Yes. Just purchased some Olympus equipment with PayBoo. Easy and fast.

I wonder if you can pay with PayBoo and B&H would pay the sales tax?

If I'm remembering the name properly; B&H is actively involved w/that program.

I've bought from them and was well satisfied.

You echo what I was going to write! I wouldn't shop for camera equipment anywhere else!

I am fortunate to live on Long Island, which gives me access to the B&H store in Manhattan. I was recently interested in a Sigma 150-600 lens for my Canon EOS RP. I went to the store and the sales staff was extremely helpful. They connected a lens to an RP camera for me to try out. I had a question about mounting the camera and lens on my tripod their tripod sales staff showed me hoe to do it. I purchased the lens from B&H. You just do not get this kind of service anymore and a trip to B&H is certainly worth it.

Thank you. This is very gratifying. We appreciate your sentiments and that you took the time to post this here. And thanks to everyone else kind enough to share their positive experiences too.

The whole purpose of Payboo is that the state tax is paid and the state is satisfied but ultimately the individual customer has no tax burden. See https://www.bhphotovideo.com/credit-cards

Kinda figured. The days of walking over maybe coming to an end. We are looking at moving. The city is getting to be a cess pool.

I've grown weary as well. To this end I've sold my home in Brooklyn and bought a house in Lakewood, N.J. We are for the time being maintaining a small apartment in Brooklyn as both my wife and I work in the city.

When we got married, (6/1/69) Still married. I moved into my husbands apartment on 95th St between 3rd and 4th Ave. in Bay Ridge. I loved that neighborhood. I walked down to the street crossed over down the stairs to the train. I always got a seat.It was the last stop. Got off at Broad Street walked to Morgan.
Oh well, ...you can never cross the same stream twice.
Have a nice day.

I lived on Marine Avenue, off 4th Avenue for about 18 months before moving to Long Island in 1976. We also loved the neighborhood, and that seat on the subway. The only negative was the alternate side parking. With all the apartment buildings in the area, the parking was a nightmare.

My husband had a Sunbeam Tiger. He/we paid for a shared garage space.Leaving the car in the street was never an option. The same car that Maxwell Smart drove in the TV series Get Smart.

Heading there next week when I'm in NYC. I want to see firsthand the new Mavic Mini drone. I think Santa might pay me a visit with one this year... :-)
