Women’s clothes often lack enough pockets, and what pockets I have are in use. I like the elastic bands that go around the lens. good when I’m in a hurry to catch a shot like BIF. It avoids dropping the lens cover, or having it fall out of my pocket. I lost a lens cover from my binoculars some years ago. The shape was not round, and Swift doesn’t seem to offer replacements. I ended up having to jerryrig something.

I'll be checking my mailbox for the checks.

To each his own, I leave my lens caps at home when I shoot.

Looks like he attached a Velcro strip to the lens cap and the mating side of the strip to something (someplace) else.

I just stick my lens cap in my pocket.

"What does one do with the lens cap when shooting?" maybe?

I am with you in either placing the lens cap in my pocket OR leaving the lens cap in the camera bag in the space allotted for the camera. When I am done with the camera it goes back in the bag right where the lens cap has been placed. Having a lens cap swaying around while I am trying to take a photo or getting caught on something to not allow me to take that photo is not a good idea to my way of thinking. Of course to each our own. If the OP likes things swinging around then he is more than welcome to use his idea.

Sorry but no check coming from me,

Dennis

The genius seems to be in this 'pocket' thing everyone is talking about. I should package and sell them (maybe a Scotchpocket? Ha!) and then I would have something to put MY checks into...just like that Velcro guy. :-)

Simple ideas are the best.

I put it in my pocket till I'm finished shooting. I often have a clear filter on the lens, depending on shooting conditions.

Lost one lens cap in my life and I'm a bit rambunctious with taking care with some things. Now, if you have suggestions for not losing my glasses, keys, hearing aids, smart phone and sun glasses, I'm all ears.

Absolutely correct. The last time I got all uppity about not finding my eyeglasses my wife pointed out that I was wearing them. Sometimes she is such a smart ass though usually she is R-R-R Correct.

I threw my front lens caps away about 1982. I never lose them and never miss them.

So if you tape a piece of velcro loop on your forehead, and tape a piece of velcro hook on the lens cap, then you can stick the lens cap to your forehead when you take it off the lens.

Yes I do. I say please and thank you while feeling dumb that I can't locate my glasses that are on my own face. She tells me I am getting old. I reply, Aren't we all?

Have a great day,

Dennis

My Canon G1X m3 came with a tether for the lens cap. Then attaches to a the hook for a strap. Lens cap just hangs down but it is small cap. I don’t think there is a pendulum effect. Best not lose this. I see no replacement.
