I have the Spyder color monitor calibrator and the printer calibrator.
The monitor calibrator is very good, but I found that with my HP8850 printer and the HP supplied ICM paper calibrations I have no need for printer calibration system.
If I was using non HP papers I may have a diffenent opinion.
I know, and it's not just the photo shops, I do custom woodworking also, so I have to watch myself going into a fine woodworking establishment, I may walk out or should I say truck out a $5000+ 12" helical jointer, $3,000+ 16" surface planer, 48" surface sander...just for a tease. Never ends. I Thank my lucky stars I'm not that into video, HD cams with stedi cams rigs can run a few bucks. :) When's the next big lottery. Back to reality, Yes I can hold off till you give a go, the one you bought, is that price with the printer calibrator also or just for the monitors?
Thanks...

It is the monitor calibration only. The one I purchased was the Elite version for $239 which includes 12% tax. Cheers
Thanks, yeah I need the Printer/Plotter calibration also. Let me know how you make out when it arrives. WOW 12% tax, and I thought we pain a lot at 7% in NJ.

Update on the Spyder. Finally calibrated my monitor yesterday. Setup of system was easy and the testing/calibration took about 20 minutes. My monitor was too bright and the whites gave off a cold light, (blue). After the calibration you are presented with some test pictures which you can view in the before and after mode. Skin color is now warmer and more natural. Up to this point I have not taken any portrait pics in color, I prefer taking B&W candid photos but I can certainly see a difference. I loaded up one up my candid photos in Lightroom and it "appears" closer to what was printed out.
Hope this helps. Cheers
