Ready? FIRE!!! Uh, aim? WTF is aim?

Those who learn, plan, and THEN do are happier, more efficient, and more successful than those who try, fail, give up, remember the manual, and THEN learn.

The OP is on the right track, with that manual in hand. He's also likely to be a verbal, linear learner who goes from A to Z without skipping around in between. It's a rare learning style, but a good one.

You will love it. Mine is great! Download the manual to a pad or computer. It is easily searchable by key word. I’ve found this approach faster than thumbing thru that monster printed version

Should be great. At least it weighs less than a Pentax K-1mkii. I had to pass on that and stay with only APS-C bodies due to weight. My arthritic body can't take the heft of an over 2-lb. camera! Perhaps I should have bought the Pentax K-1 when it was first released at only $1699. At least I would have gotten a couple years of use before the pain got to me. I'm not as brand chauvinistic as many. If I were to get another IR converted Infrared camera it would likely be a pre-converted Canon something. It is easier to convert and I feel I would only use one IR calibrated lens on the camera for IR use only. I have a Fuji X-100T now for my wife, and am thinking about a Fuji X-T3 for my self with a couple lenses.

You've seen a Camera manual that is logically linear? Perhaps the introduction. I'm more of a tinkerer. In the film days the only time I had to look at the then very short manuals was to find out how to change the ASA (ISO) on my Asahi Pentax K2 DMD camera. Turns out it is a collar around the lens mount not a dial on top like nearly 95% of 35mm SLRs. With digital anything it is a different story. TV Remotes (programming) and SmartPhone are a nightmare too me. Yet, back in the day I could edit Registry Keys in Windows up to say version Vista. I need a full keyboard!

Try Googling the make & model #.
Sometimes a movie helps better then reading text.
Just a thought.

More like "just" 200 pages, the manual is provided in 3 languages... I got mine in 2017 and love it. Be sure to download the app (Canon Camera Connect) so you can control the camera from your smart phone. Thought it was just a gimmick but have used it a number of times. Beats a self-timer if you wish to be in the pic too.

When I switched to Canon I found John Greengo's video courses to be very helpful. On sale right now for $14.00 and well worth it, in my opinion. You can watch a preview for free to see if you like his style. https://www.creativelive.com/class/canon-eos-6d-mark-ii-fast-start-john-greengo?via=autocomplete

Thank you for all your replies, comments, and suggestions etc. Just need some typical Autumn U.K. weather now to wade through the manual (and for me with a slight dyslexic issue) it is a wade.
I have found it is lighter than my 60D +15-85 efs combo by around 70g.

That looks like a really nice full frame camera, I will be looking for your posts on all the features on your new camera.

Congrats. I felt the same when I got my first full frame body....a Nikon D750. In addition to the owner's manual, I bought four ebooks about the D750, and loaded them onto my Kindle Fire. I read them while waiting in government offices (SS, VA, etc), at doctor's offices, and the like. It passed the time, and taught me a lot. The camera has too many features / capabilities to not read up on them. Not reading about them would leave me not knowing about them, and so not using them. That would be a waste.
