Congrats John I know you will enjoy as you learn. Please post some photos with your new toy. Thanks
Tom
Congratulations and good luck!
Congrats on your new toy! I find I get more out a manual after I use the thing for awhile, then go back and find out things like " Oh! THAT'S what that button is for! I once had a car for six months before discovering the trunk latch button.

Congrats! I'm sure you will have fun exploring your camera's capabilities.
BTW, 'Real' guys know the truth: You never read the manual first. They only exist so that you can figure out where you screwed up! I learned that with my first paint sprayer. As an added bonus my neighbor's dog and chickens never came on my property again!
HHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I bought a 6d2 during the Christmas sale blitz last year despite grumbles about dynamic range and the likes of Tony Northrop not caring for much except for the flippy screen, which he made fun of. Within a week, I sold my 6d and have enjoyed the 6d2 immensely ever since. The touch screen is a wonderful tool that makes changing camera functions an absolute breeze. Some also moaned because Canon chose to use the 80d focus system in the full frame 6d2; not a big deal at all. If you’re familiar with the Canon menu system/philosophy, that 600 pages of manual reading should take long enough for your thumb to flick to a few locations. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your new camera for a long time. I sure do mine! 👍👍👍
Fabulous! Congratulations. Enjoy it.
