I can tell you took earth science in high school but you should have continued your education. Water, in fact, increases in size when warmed. It is the only substance that when it crystalizes also expands so you've got it half right.

Don't believe me, maybe you'll believe NASA:

"Solids, liquids and gases expand when heated. Water expands about four percent when heated from room temperature to its boiling point. The ocean will expand when heated."

Yea when heated to the boiling point water will expand. but when heated 1 or 2 or 5 degrees thev expansion will amount to only a few inches, certainly not enough to flood all of florida. I did not take earth science in high school, but I did take geology in college, as well as physics, chemistry and a BA in biology

No LWW I do not h**e you... you are more to be pitied than censored... or a Russian paid to be pro Trump

I am amazed how Trump people stand by the immature childlike mentality and tantrums that he has while if it were their two-year-old they would give a wack on the butt rather than facilitating and approving.

Bottom line is - AOC just makes things up as she goes. Miami will be fine in a few years. But it does make me wonder how much of the Green New Deal is just stuff she came up with in her head while daydreaming out the window...

So I imagine, you're community college education made you more informed than NASA scientists. I can almost understand the argument that c*****e c****e is not man made, although I disagree with it, but to deny science so that it's convenient for you is truly selfish.
Keep on believing what you want and if you get a chance find a source that says that the warming of the ocean will only rise sea level 3 inches. I'd love to read that.

Here's a quote from an article in Scientific American Magazine:

Seas May Rise 2.3 Meters per Degree C of G****l W*****g: Report. Sea levels could rise by 2.3 meters for each degree Celsius that global temperatures increase and they will remain high for centuries to come, according to a new study by the leading climate research institute, released on Monday.Jul 15, 2013

Ignore the warning signs and future generations will pay dearly for it.

They started their outrageous claims back in the 80's and so far none of them have come to pass, what makes them so special now that we should believe their claims. Not refuting all of the warnings but refuse to buy into the hysteria.

Perhaps the increase in flooding in Miami or the more severe weather or the hottest year on record or......wait for it....,.................................COMMON SENSE!

From The IAPWS (International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam):

"Most liquids have a quite simple behavior when they are cooled (at a fixed pressure): they shrink. The liquid contracts as it is cooled; because the molecules are moving slower they are less able to overcome the attractive intermolecular forces drawing them closer to each other. Then the freezing temperature is reached, and the substance solidifies, which causes it to contract some more because crystalline solids are usually tightly packed.

Water is one of the few exceptions to this behavior. When liquid water is cooled, it contracts like one would expect until a temperature of approximately 4 degrees Celsius is reached. After that, it expands slightly until it reaches the freezing point, and then when it freezes it expands by approximately 9%." (emphasis added by me)

http://iapws.org/faq1/freeze.html

So water expands by 9% when it freezes...so what conclusion can you draw when it melts?. The Arctic ice (north pole) is floating around in the ocean. When we see a glacier, we see the very tip of a big ice cube. As a few people have already said - put some ice in a glass and fill the glass all the way to the top and watch as the ice melts. The water will not spill out of the glass. Antarctic ice (south pole) is on land and if it melts, it WILL displace the water (fill a glass of water half way, and then drop some ice into it - the level will rise). However.....Antarctic ice is growing, not melting, so that's not going to make any difference in rise of sea water levels.

The NASA article you quoted from is a teaching exercise that does not take the IAPWS findings into consideration - it does not address the fact that water behaves differently than other liquids when it is frozen, and then heated back up again - they just talk about heating water. NASA is a proponent of g****l w*****g (they probably get a lot of federal grant money for it), so it makes sense that they would omit this important fact about the behavior of water vs. other liquids. Also...warm water evaporates at a faster rate than cool water...there's that to consider as well.

Miami has always had flooding issues in certain areas, your boy Gore said that Florida would be under water by now.... It is not happening, they are just publicizing flooding issues on Miami Beach that never should have been developed as it has been, guess that is the price that those people will have to pay for living in a little slice of heaven.

As far as the hottest year in history? Whose history and how have the ways that we measure temps changed, how can you be sure of the hottest year in history, are we using the same instruments and locations that we used 25 years ago? I think not, or are so called scientists still manipulating data in the name of correcting missing or incomplete readings? Mistrust in the science behind g****l w*****g comes from the previous abuse of science in the effort to make the issue more significant in the eyes of the public.

So your position is we should allow the coasts to be inundated because someone in China is burning coal.
How good do you think the economy will be when we have to relocate millions of people inland.
Your position is selfish and best.
BTW, I'm not a socialist, I just think capitalism needs to work for everyone, not just the rich.

Aoc says we got 11 years now. Plenty of time to move.

All these predictions are based upon computer models. So fer all those computer model predictions have been wrong. What will happen in th future is not as yet known. In the last 100 years the CO2 level in the atmosphere has risen by about 100 ppm. That t***slates to 1 part per 10,000. Put1 man in an arena with a full crowd and try to find 1 man. Currently we are in a sun spot absence. Whether or not we are in a Maunder minimum is not known, but the last time the Earth was in a Maunder minimum was during thee Little ice Age. the 1400 hundreds to the late 1700's. So it is possible that it may get av lot colder

Yep. We are due for a cooling period based on actual historical data.

Sunspots are nil these days.
