Studies predict that by 2045, 20% of Miami will be underwater at high tide. That will effectively make those areas uninhabitable by humans and have a devastating impact on the people and the economy.
Of course, republicans live in Denial, not Miami so I guess they'll be fine.

Aoc says in 11 years now. Gore? It already happened. Send Obakapig a note. Save him $15 million.

Go look at who wrote the “studies” and the qualifications they posess. It would be zero qualifications.

Well the flooding won't turn on like a switch. They're already having serious flooding and NOAA agrees it's going to get worse.
In fact, a new NOAA report suggests that by 2019 the southeastern United States will experience a 190 percent increase in the number of days with high tide floods relative to 2000.
If you want to close your eyes, go ahead but, I wouldn't be buying any beachfront condos if I were you.

Yes, parts of Miami were built on a mangrove swamps, what could go wrong? The problem with saltwater intrusion is more than just the limestone, South Florida is over populated, Florida now has the third largest population in the country, overwhelmingly much of that population is located in the souther part of the state, from Homestead up through West Palm Beach. The demand for fresh water is exceeding the amount of water that the aquifer can provide, as all the fresh water is pumped out of the aquifer saltwater is drawn into the aquifer....

While the arctic sea ice is melting the antarctic ice is growing. What AOC doesn't know is the fact that if ALL the arctic sea ice melted tommorrow the sea level would not rise 1inch

Exactly, but Dems need a cause.....they need to be able to scream and cry and say the world is coming to an end. If they have no cause to scream about, they are lost.

It's not all about ice, although that is part of it. It's also about the temperature of the ocean rising and as it rises, the molecules expand, thus taking up more space.
This is more a contributor to sea-level rise than the melted ice. It seems most of the people on this site are over 70 years old and one would think they'd worry about the legacy they're leaving their grandchildren, but oddly enough they don't.
Do something now or future generations will pay dearly for your inaction.

Get China and India to clean up there environments and then come talk to us Frank, those of us who oppose the "Green New Deal" oppose it because it strangles our economy, one would think that a socialist such as yourself would want a strong economy to pay for all the s**t that you should have but don't think you should have to work for.

Then there is a small problem with all these great scientists and their considered predictions which never come close to coming true.

So your position is we should allow the coasts to be inundated because someone in China is burning coal.
How good do you think the economy will be when we have to relocate millions of people inland.
Your position is selfish and best.
BTW, I'm not a socialist, I just think capitalism needs to work for everyone, not just the rich.

Water is not like any other substance. All other things shrink when frozen. water expands. Thats why 10% of ice bergs are above the waterline. Fill a large glass with 1/2 water and the other 1/2 with ice and let everything melt. Not 1 drop of water will spill over the edge.

What you don’t get is that the rest of the world will do nothing, they have said that and you know it’s true. China, Korea, Russia, to name a couple will do ZERO.

I can tell you took earth science in high school but you should have continued your education. Water, in fact, increases in size when warmed. It is the only substance that when it crystalizes also expands so you've got it half right.

Don't believe me, maybe you'll believe NASA:

"Solids, liquids and gases expand when heated. Water expands about four percent when heated from room temperature to its boiling point. The ocean will expand when heated."

That's never going to happen Frank, I travel this state from end to end and the only places having tidal troubles are places that should have never been developed, low lying properties that were filled and provided with inadequate drainage systems near large rivers, bays, or the ocean itself.

Oh good, glad you know that... please give references not just what Trump says ... please references that state that sea rise would not be an inch... aaa, yes I see, you mean not an inch rather much more!!

"If we keep burning f****l f**ls indefinitely, g****l w*****g will eventually melt all the ice at the poles and on mountaintops, raising sea level by 216 feet. Explore what the world’s new coastlines would look like."
