Wednesday at the NAACP town hall, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Miami has only a few years left. She said this today: "When it comes to c*****e c****e, what is not realistic is not responding with a solution on the scale of the crisis — because what's not realistic is Miami not existing in a few years, So we need to be realistic about the problem."

Realistic is a good word, AOC, use it a lot and people might believe what you're saying (??) - even though it makes no sense....

I don't know about "a few years" but at the rate the ice caps are melting it could happen.

Florida's geology makes the place especially sensitive to rising seas. They won't be closing up shop any time soon but 'rising damp' will continue be a major worry.

I can't find my magic 8 ball. I think AOC borrowed it again. Maybe this nut job is being financed by Al Gore

The Pacific Islands are s**tting themselves since they are feeling the effects already, losing land to the ocean. They don't have much above water.

I’ve been to Tahiti several times over 20 years. Everything’s just fine.

Another sign man made g****l w*****g is a h**x is Obakapig just bought property they said would be underwater. Aoc says in 11 years.

Obakapig knows it’s a h**x, the realtors know it’s a h**x. Why spend $15 million to have its value shrink and float away in 11 years. Gore says it will be gone years ago. He knows it’s a h**x too. But still makes money on it.

LWW in that reading you will find: A study in 2016 that examined flooding in Miami Beach from 1998 to 2013 found that high tide flooding had increased 400 percent after 2006. "

Yes, LWW, I read the book and have read many technical ... Academic Google [Tech Journals]... assessments of the environmental changes and indeed Miami is a symbolic example... but around the world, there are many places where everyday flooding is a NOW problem. Fernandina Beach Florida just north of Jacksonville is an example. I went to visit a lady friend and she said we need to hurry less you want to drive in the ocean at Hi-Tide... the streets flooded regularly.

Below is an excerpt of a longer article that while not a book worth your reading LWW. The NOAA is the NOAA before Trump became the Voice of Intuitive-Invantile-Knowledge forecasting the weather and other once scientific technologies:

"Flooding from these routine tides has gotten much worse as global sea levels have risen.

NOAA issued a report in June that said rising sea levels and frequent storms set flood records across the country in 2017, and it warned that this year could be worse: "The projected increase in high tide flooding in 2018 may be as much as 60 percent higher across U.S. coastlines as compared to typical flooding about 20 years ago and 100 percent higher than 30 years ago. This is due to long-term sea-level rise trends and, in part, by El Nino conditions that may develop later this year."

South Florida cities like Miami and Fort Lauderdale already see nuisance flooding in low-lying areas during high tides on sunny days. A king tide combined with the sea level rise means the water flows further inland.

So LWW dream if you wish, but AOC is conveying the trend, perhaps off in time and extent, but the message is correct in meaning

Why he Miami undertaken a project to raise the level of its roads if they're not under a rising sea level threat?

AOC and her little band of misfits are the laughing stock of the US. Everyone knows it is about money in THEIR pockets.

Studies predict that by 2045, 20% of Miami will be underwater at high tide. That will effectively make those areas uninhabitable by humans and have a devastating impact on the people and the economy.
Of course, republicans live in Denial, not Miami so I guess they'll be fine.
