All my life and I am 60 now, I could never imagine NYC as a vacation destination until I had to go for a business meeting.

All I can is WOW, my perception was way off.
I decided to take my better half to see the big apple and see what it was all about and got some great shots.

We took the ferry to see the Lady, This is something I have always dreamed of.
For these shots we walked about 15 miles per day and really got to experience the city.

Hershel from B&H photo was kind enough to give us a tour of the store and behind the scenes, B&H is not at all a small operation, they are huge, the store is just the tip of the iceberg, they have my business.

Enjoy.

Very nice set and I would get a large metal print of the spectacular last image; was it shot from Exchange Place?

There's another thread presently; a guy asking about what camera to buy and what the sales person at BestBuy was suggesting. You may have seen or read the thread; there were some really good replies. Bottom line is, you can make your purchase any place you like, it doesn't mean a thing to me. But if/when I want useful camera choice information, I'd rather speak with someone at a B&H sort of place than somewhere I can get sales 'advice' and pick up cat food all in one fell swoop. Lighten up.

You missed the point, and lighten up yourself.

You did a great job! Lucky you to get a tour of B&H! The first time I went in, I was so overwhelmed I completely forgot what it was I needed ( battery for my Nikon). I wound up buying a raincoat for my camera and no battery, lol!

I live in metro NY/LI and love to go wander and investigate new and old places. We tend to take for granted what is in our backyard. When you were downtown, did you make it to the 9/11 Memorial site? It is breathtaking and hits you at the center of your soul.

I grew up in the Midwest but job opportunities put my wife and me in northern NJ settling in eyeshot of the city. We never missed an opportunity to go explore. Sure there are the tourist spots but wandering it’s many neighborhoods and ethnic centers was always an adventure and education. After 35 years we had to return to the Midwest but our memories remain of that great city....and we cannot say we ever had a bad experience even in what some would call the dicey neighborhoods.

Yes, it is a great place to visit, which I do occasionally. A friend lives in Westchester, and she's in Manhattan at least once a week - just exploring, seeing a play, etc. My son is going down again today to shoot video. I'll probably go to the Photo Show in the Javits Center next month.

Well done!! My wife & I will be there for two days next week. I'm 82 and I can't walk very far before resting for a few minutes - arthritis, repaired torn discs and stenosis hamper my mobility. We'll do the High Line on Wed. There is nothing that compares to the Big Apple.

Fabulous images.

Lived outside of New York City(Westchester County) most of my life and really never appreciated the land marks of NYC though I visited there many times. Finally went back in 2002 for my 50th high school reunion
and saw so many sites. Empire State Building, Wall Street, way down town(via subway) Did you by any chance visit Ellis Island? An historic venture. Wonderful series of shots. Glad you had a great time. No other city like it.
