Leave it that way, unless you have a good reason to change something.
When you let the camera make the decisions, you get what IT wants, not necessarily what YOU want.

I always seem to shoot in โMโ mode including white balance manual white balance. and I donโt pre set anything! I set the aperture for the type of capture I want and the only automatic option I use is back button focus. thatโs the way I have always shot since my Minolta 35mm SLR which did not have auto. Except you had to manually focus.๐ค
I would only shoot in auto if I saw a monkey doing the macaraina.

Not at all. Once I review its decisions, those decisions now belong to ME.

This would not work for me. When needed, I want to be able to override the camera's automatically selected exposure settings. I can't do that if the camera is set to full Auto.
In any of the "semi-auto" modes I can easily override the camera's auto exposure by using Exposure Compensation (EC).
Mostly I set the shooting mode to "M" (Manual) and have Auto ISO turned on. I set the shutter speed based on subject motion and/or camera steadiness considerations. I set the aperture to give me desired depth of field and/or based on image quality considerations.
With M + Auto ISO + EC I have total control with camera auto assist! ๐

Is that your only digital camera other than perhaps the one in your phone?

I used to do that with my Panasonic FZ18 and it worked well. My Nikon D5200 however will not take a decent picture in auto mode.

With due respect how about you let us make our own decisions on what settings we will use to take photographs with out cameras. I have never used Auto nor even Program. So far so good. I feel left out. if only God had told us he had made a Camera Tsar.

Great for snapshots but if doing that, wouldn't it be quicker and easier to just google an image and look at that ? Personally, I would rather have the shot I want and the way that I want it rather than taking some engineer's idea of what looks acceptable.
To each their own ...

I set up my camera before I start, and then I review settings before each shot. The only engineer making final decisions is
me.

I thought you were supposed to shoot Monkeys doing Macaraina in "M" mode ??? Astronauts and Airplanes in "A" ?!?!?!?
