Look, guys, there's no magic wand that we can wave to stop mass shootings.
However, there are incremental steps that we can take to at least move the numbers down.
For instance. No civilian ever needs a 30 or 100 round magazine. Not a h****r, not a target shooter.
Second, meaningful background checks that include mental health history.
Third, changing the 3-day rule that defaults in allowing the purchase of a firearm to a 30 day rule to give the government more time to make a decision with the default position being, they cannot buy a firearm.
Fourth, Rigorous enforcement of the federal law prohibiting straw purchases and handing out the maximum sentence of 10 years on each count for anyone violating that law.
There's probably a lot more that we can do but if we don't start somewhere we're not going to make any progress.
We reduced the number of traffic fatalities in incremental steps and we can do the same here.

I hear what your saying but our laws certainly haven't worked in our war against drugs. We have to be able to identify people with evil intent before they act. How? I don't think we even have guess how to do this. But, until we solve this we will continue to have the problem of extreem violence with or without guns.
