My wife still likes her flip-phone, I have my 6 year old S-III (they're selling the 10 now).
And of course there's my 9 year old DSLR and my 13 year old H-1.
Guess I don't need the latest and greatest.

And what's more, you probably get to pay at least twice the price...

Sounds to me like a solution looking for a problem.

Nikon has something similar already (at least the Z6/7 does)
Go to setup menu
Click on battery info
You get Charge in %, Number of Shots, and battery age (0-4)

Now that you mention it I think there is something similar in the menu of my Nikon D3

Agree. This app fills a much needed gap in our armamentarium -- It's the gap that is needed.

I remember I was on a bike ride with two friends, we stopped at an intersection to wait and regather. One of us had a GPS and was frantically trying to learn it and find out where we were. With an air of triumph, he announced the cross streets we were at. My other friend looked at the street signs and said "yep".
