Don’t you have a return period...

Figures! I just received the Sony RX100 VI that I got used from Adorama for $200 off. The biggest difference that I can see is the sensor and image processor for improved AF and speed. I’m not sure if it is worth the extra cash!

Previously, I had the RX100 III which is now in the procession of my granddaughter.

Sony has really missed the boat on the RX series. One of my big grips is the lack of a HOT SHOE. The camera cost $1200.00 with no hot shoe. The Sony RX100 II is still the only RX100 with a hot shoe.
Not really much different besides the speed from the RX100VI. IMHO
I will say Sony is very good at marketing.
Sony has introduced a new RX100 about every other ... (show quote)

Amen!

I have made a separate post stating the same thing. I have have a had great success placing a Godox X1s flash controller to control six external flashes.

I've been buying this since the original. It is one of the most enjoyable cameras to shoot with. Probably because it reminds me of the Olympus Pen that I had in Vietnam and shot 72 pics with a 36 roll. The Sony is unobtrusive, fits in any pocket, can go anywhere. It's not as fast as my version 5 so I've decided to keep the 5 as well for its low-light performance at night. I've ordered the 7 and expecting it on Aug 16. I have to say that after using my DSLRs for years, this camera has always been the most joy to use.

You read my mind! I was thinking exactly that!! I’ve already spent $1000 for the M6; why not $200 more for the latest and greatest? In the grand scheme of things, $200 is a drop in the bucket! My husband is getting a $6000 hearing aid!

Certainly worth considering if you can do that...

Thanks for clarifying... I’m not sure what 7 shots in
8-9 hundredths of a second is good for unless perhaps
water splashes and such...

Mine does 6 shots in 0.10sec. I find it handy
for unpredictable action stills. And, for low
light steadiness acoarst you only get 2 or 3
frames per 0.10 sec. Mine is not a Sony and
the actually number of frames is not set to
a default of 7 frames ... it varies with finger
action and shutter speed. Nevertheless, the
short burst of still frames is a useful feature.

Perhaps more important is that this ability is
really just the by-product of other features,
such as post focus.
