Thanks for the memories......
I used to travel to Boston and on to Newport RI a lot back a few years and the images sure wowed me! Somewhere, I have some similar taken two decades ago. Yes, I know Copley Place wasn't there then.

Thanks for the compliment. Boston has changed a lot over the years. Alas, the traffic has changed with it.

Yes. Everything that I've posted here for about a year is Olympus EM1 mark ii. The only lens I had for this set was the Olympus 12-40 Pro.

Processing was minimal (straightening, sharpening., b&w conversion, etc.) was with Capture One 10.

"Hancock Tower"? I still think of it as the "Plywood Palace". When they were building it in the 70's the windows started flying out - huge 500-pound sheets of tempered glass plunging many stories to the ground. The problem was figured out, and the started removing the windows from the bottom up, and while waiting for new windows to arrive, the windows were replaced with plywood. They got about half-way up, and realized that they were creating a fire hazard! So the plywood was then removed from the bottom up and replaced with black fire-retardant-treated plywood. The new windows finally arrived and the plywood was eventually replaced with the famous mirrored glass.

I remember the falling panes. Probably many fewer lawsuits then than would happen now. It was rather bizarre.

Thanks for commenting. Boston is a great city to practice architectural photos as there are enough places with room and good sight lines. The bridges and the river give lots of space to shoot. Just bring comfortable shoes. This is no city in which to park.

Beautiful images and a great series - thanks for sharing. I used to travel frequently for business, and Boston was one of my favorite cities to visit.

Thanks for looking and commenting. Last Saturday was one of the most perfect days weather-wise that Boston can produce. Given the forecast for 99 degrees tomorrow it is unlikely I will hop the T for Copley Square.

I don't get into downtown Boston too often, particularly on a Saturday when the sky, temperature, and even traffic are cooperating. Met a friend for lunch near Copley Square. Took camera with me and one lens, a 12-40 mm. Didn't stay too long after lunch but did wander around Copley for about an hour before hopping on the T to return to BC.

Beautiful series frjack. I've visited there briefly twice, but the most recent was about 30 years ago. It's a beautiful city and reminds me a little of San Francisco.
