What Canon 80mm EF lens?
I have a Canon 85mm f1.8 EF lens and it works on both full frame and crop Canon DSLR bodies.

Yes, you're right, Arch … that 80's an old lens, though. Quite possibly, it might not fit on current models.

I am not sure where this crap information is coming from about EF lenses not working on all EOS cameras ever made but if you are a Nikon user with limited knowledge of Canon please refrain from lying about what works with what.

If I were to make a decision, I'd buy a Canon T1i for just a little $ from mpb.com (or Ebay, Amazon. etc.) and have a lot of fun trying out my newly bought lenses. Then I'd expand on my experience with digital format.

The Nikon owners are confusing Canon lenses with Nikon lenses that at last count have 9 different iterations and a score card is needed to see what works and fully functions with what.

Canon 5D MIII (23.4 mp) - full frame, excellent camera, but the 18 - 200 EFS will not be able to be used. I bought mine (new) in 2013 - probably 250,000+ images and still in perfect condition.

Arch - I've been a Canon DSLR user since 2011. I added a Nikon to my arsenal, a year later. I've already indicated I made a mistake. I'm quite familiar with Canon lenses and cameras, and what works with what.
In fact - my familiarity with all Canon cameras - is shown in the very post to which you responded!!!!
