This great video was sent to me recently. It truly was a kinder, gentler time, and I was lucky enough to be a kid then. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have.

I have at least 10 cd's that are all Doo Wop sounds. Cannot stand this rap crap. The segment that opened on the car with three on the column reminds me of my first car. A 4 door Plymouth. Armstrong steering.
Very cool - thanks for sharing!
I was born in the 40s and was a teen during the era of this great video! Thanks. About "sport" vs "sports" coat. I think the confusion is b/c there is a type of clothing called "sportswear", that began to be popular in the 40s and 50s. For women it was blouses and skirts, with or without a sweater (draped around the shoulders, sleeves tied in front was the acme of cool). Before "sportswear" women wore dresses. Period. But for men a jacket that is cut like a suitcoat but not part of a suit is called a sport coat. It can be worn with or without a tie.
That was refreshing and what a life that was....yep.
Yes, the Good Old Days had their advantages, but I would hardly call them kinder and gentler.
I loved that nostalgia. Years ago I was friends with Carlo Mastrangelo (aka Tony Belmont) when he moved to Florida. Tony, as he wanted to be called, opened several restaurants in my area. That's where I got to know him.
He performed with (later called) Dion and the Belmonts in the February 3, 1959 concert where later that evening Buddy, Ritchie and The Big Bopper lost their lives in the airplane crash. Tony and all the rest took the bus. We lost Tony in 2016, although Tony did create the National Comedy Hall of Fame which now is in Holiday, Florida.
Tony was an expert on the history of Rock and Roll and, as an educator, I arranged for him give speeches to some of the local high school choirs about this history. That was real fun.
I really had very little experience with Rock and Roll because I was a Classical Musician, but there was a lot of joy in letting Tony share his stories with me and others. The video link you shared brought back a lot of great memories. Thanks.

Thank you for a bit of common sense. Even if Amy was correct and I do not for a moment think she was, that was then and this is now. We still have Liberals just like Amy who are STILL telling us that we need to do more for the black race and poor people. We are living in an age where everyone who wants a job can have a job. Yet there are people who, thanks to Liberalism, are living better than some who work their asses off doing two jobs because those people get welfare for doing absolutely nothing.
Having worked in a prison for many years, both male and female, gave me great insight into the people on the welfare system, I heard so many complaints from inmates who told me they turned to crime because, they were black and could not get an honest job. How funny, I told them that millions of other people found jobs and they were also black.
Perhaps Amy forgets that in America anyone can become a millionaire IF they get an education and then start working hard. If you don't have the energy and gumption to do those two things then you deserve nothing but scorn from me and others who have worked all their lives. Opportunity is there for anyone who puts out some effort. Liberalism has never provided anyone with a job. It is employers who own factories, stores etc. that offer jobs.
