I worked with a woman who was a family friend of another great, Larry Doby. Doby and Berra were longtime friends, lived in the same town, and Berra would often visit Doby. My friend was well aware of Doby’s status but virtually unaware of Berra’s. She shared this with me when Doby was elected to the Hall of Fame and said that “this other baseball player, the one who does the commercials (Berra was doing Aflac ads at the time) came over to congratulate him. He comes over a lot and they just sit and talk” How great it would have been to listen to two all time greats share stories!
Hey Yogi, what time is it?
