The larger insect is a orange bottom "whatsit" quite uncommon in north america

GOOD LORD!!!!! Another reason I never plan to go north! That bugger is scarier than a gator! No, I have no idea unless it is a Cicada Killer Giant Wasp. No. I did not make that up.

The common names for these two insects....first image is a wasp, and second one added a yellow-jacket. Both have strong stingers!
