These aren't the best photos ...I added the second one for size comparison.
I have never seen anything like this.... have you?

yikes, it isn't a hummer that's for sure, I'd be freaking out if one of those landed on me eeeeks!! Good capture though!

Loc: Marshfield Wi, Baltimore Md, now Dallas Ga
Wasps & Yellow Jackets (not the Georgia Tech kind) are common around HB feeders due to the sucrose in the HB food.

I know the little one is a yellow-jacket, but it is in normal size.... I've never seen a hornet or wasp SO big! Thanks for answering, I appreciate it.

For a definite answer as to what type of wasp, submit the image to bugguide.net & you will get an answer...

I don't know either what it is but it must have came from the Glades because our bugs are all on growth hormones!
