The price companies pay for ads on any website is based on traffic. I would guess that site Admin/owner has the data to provide the "price list" and tailors his own advertising to it also.

I don't see it ever being made available to us users - who get the services free

Thanks for the information. I didn't understand that is how it works.

In reviewing the responses of others, it appears there are folks interested in PP who lean more towards artistic reconceptualizations of photos, and folks interested in PP who lean more towards realistic interpretations of their photos and want to maximize their use of the tools at hand for that purpose. Both are great reasons to follow and contribute to a PP specialty section.

I will offer that the two goals are not mutually exclusive. The tools one learns to use for either purpose will help equally with the other purpose. They are the same tools: layers, selections, masking, blending, editing programs, plugins, color work, repairs and more will all help us regardless of which interest we are most aligned with. And our interests may change over time, but the tools are still there regardless.

I'd encourage anyone with an interest in PP to post threads that pose questions or encourage discussion of the areas of their own interest. We will probably find more common ground than differences.

Oh, you mean my moon should have gone to the Astronomical Photography Forum?? I don't believe I'm subscribed there 🤔

Since that post was specific to exposing for the moon and not "about exposure and the specifics of when to choose aperture over shutter speed and vice versa" as you pretended, yes. And once there, it only takes a couple of mouse-clicks to subscribe.
I wouldn't expect any of the specialty sections, Post Processing included, to get the traffic they deserve as long as nearly anything can be posted here in Main Discussion. You're probably right that Admin makes more money (with less effort) this way. As you say, it's free, so why complain!

After reading this for six pages, I put up a project in the Post Processing section. Tell me what you think Linda!

Thank you Bill! I just saw it and sent a pm; need a housekeeping clarification point.

I edited the topic to make it "public domain".
