Yep, the pre-‘55 Vettes with straight 6s weren’t fast either in a straight line or corners, but by ‘56, with the introduction of the 265 V8 in ‘55, a Corvette, driven by Dr. Dick Thompson (who I saw race a Ford GT40 at VIR in the 60s), won the SCCA C Production Nationals, a class previously dominated by Jaguar. By the mid-60s, the Stingrays, vs the 427 AC Cobra was the classic SCCA big bore A Production duel. And the rest is history, leading up to the VERY fast 100K$ Z06 ‘Vettes of today.
OK I'll break protocol. Go to the top of the page, click on "Create New Topic. From the drop down menu chose your option, probably "Photo Gallery". Go to the bottom of the page and click on "Browse" and follow the instructions from there.
I believe the tag reads, "A55 V8", not "455 V8". It is a beautiful ride!
The tag says 'A' 55 V8, not '4'55 V8.
