Thanks for sharing other selfies, Nat. Would like to see your whole portfolio. :)

What could make this photo better?
The fingers of your non camera hand look amputated, not sure if your hand is part in a pocket or they are folded over, apart from that I like the concept.
If you want more photos of me, it would be neat to hear suggestions on what to wear/or not. How to pose and so on.

You don't have to wear anything special for us, Nat. When it comes to posing, to cover all the angles, I say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
I like “Me Too”. While it isn’t great technically, it has warmth and softness and an intimate feeling. Your expression has a slight “Mona Lisa” touch adding a little bit of mystery. The only negative thing I find with selfies is that the arm holding the camera most always looks oddly disjointed. If you can get a cheap small tripod to support your phone and use the self timer feature.
Hi Natcw80, welcome to the forum. First there is nothing wrong with using your phone's camera, the rules of composition, posing and exposure are the same no matter what imaging device you use. You clearly have ideas about the kind of images you want to develop, so keep at it. I think the best improvement you can make is to get an inexpensive tripod and a mount suitable for your phone. Add a time delay app so you can tap the phone and have time to get in front of it and pose, this will free up your hands for more artistic placement. I also recommend that you not use any built in filter effects until you have mastered more of your self portrait techniques. Work on it and enjoy the process. Post your best efforts every week and we'll give more free advice!
Please, please, lass, do me a favor ! I have gone to some work to assist you. Go back and look at the most recent entry labeled as "Fresh From Jim's Scanner". Those scans were done with you in mind !! Get a friend and have that friend photograph you. A guy, a gal, sibling, makes no difference. But don't do it yourself. In my mind I feel you will do quite well displaying yourself as you wish. And I have this feeling you have this this bit of mischief hiding in you just anxious to jump out. And I think this is a Good Thing.

Well you managed to stretch my imagination to the limit. I was trying to put these photos into the Nude Photography and Boudoir Photography category but I have failed.
Did you take those photos? The selfies you posted had 407 x 800 pixels. These photos are 600 x 800, 600 x 600, and 600 x 600. It's like a different camera was used. They also have a much better image quality than the selfies.
Nope just an iPhone. I did use a lens though especially for the one “moon” shot. It is possible if you have the correct angle to take a nice photo from your iPhone and can show you more than just selfies. I think the quality of the camera isn’t the only thing that makes you a good photographer (I am not a photographer, but try) but rather lightning quality and most of all, passion for finding beauty where others wouldn’t. That’s from where I’m standing though.

I didn't know they were taken from an iPhone. They're excellent. You did a great job with them. Usually, cell phone cameras have enormous depth of field. You got a great, shallow depth of field as if it was from a larger camera with a large aperture lens.
I still don't understand the vast difference in the quality of the selfies and the last three photos. Look at the clarity of the glass bottles on the shelves compared to the selfies. Did you use a filter of some sort with the selfies?
Because it was a selfie. Lol. I have and love taking nature shots. The cool part about it is like someone said before, I’ve got your attention. That’s not why I did that of course I really wanted you all to say what you said. Then I thought, hey I should show you all what I can do. The explanation behind it is simple. Snapchat sucks and my camera doesn’t.
