I always find it interesting how 'we' generally expect perfection from everyone and everything around us without considering that many of our own actions are imperfect in our execution.

I suspect that the performance of the USPS is pretty darn good. We frequently receive mail from across the country in 2-3 days which is damn good.

I sold a lens and sent it to Canada. It was so slow I had a tracker placed on it. It went (in this order)to new york, Canada, New York, Beirut, New York, Canada, Dubai and finally was delivered in Canada with no explanation. It had traveled the world. It arrived in perfect condition, just as I sent it. Go figure!!

No wonder the post office lost 3 billion dollars last year.

Sometimes their delivery system is pretty hard to figure out....I have had things sent that when following the tracking of it, I have watched it go from point A, to point B, and then back to point A again.

Shipping hub system.

Goes from South Main in town A to regional hub in town B and then back to North Main in town A. In the long run a large hub with automation is cheaper than small hubs in every town.

Yes JF, A bit of Patience can really improve our outlook and experience. But did you ever wait for your Dragon's Eye ring that glows in the dark? It took forever...Probably a week or so, but that was when we were young and Christmas took forever.

I’ve had the same thing happen to me. I’m currently waiting for a package that was sent from a location about 15 miles from me. It was due January 2nd. It went to 3 different postal locations in NJ, then it went by my PO, and is now in San Antonio Tx!

I’m trying to be fair to the USPS, and realize they handle millions of letters and packages daily. Mistakes will be made, but this happens too often. On the 27th of this month a stamp will cost $0.55!

I try avoiding using them as much as possible.

Hope you get your camera back.

USPS said it would be here today. It's 4:55 pm and not here. My guess is they screwed up again. Mail is here most times by 2 -3 pm.

Besides everything else the volume of on line sales and therefore delivers had produced a crisis in the shipping industry.

Around here they had a shortage of delivery trucks, so guys used their own vehicles and they were even using large street legal golf carts to deliver from local offices where a large truck with the packages for the area was in the parking lot. Sort of an instant local hub. When someone said they got a delivery by golf cart on a local Face Book Photo Group page my wife thought it was a joke. Then a few hours later we got a package delivered by..........golf cart.

Shortly it’ll be a drone. They’re already testing moving medical samples and supplies by drones in my city.

My camera was to be delivered today 1/10 and it was last reported 1/8 in Baltimore, where I live, I just checked and some dummy sent it to Rio.

You will receive a well traveled camera, maybe they could pay you to pick it up in Rio!

These stories are all pretty hilarious! I think yours is the winner--the side trips to Beirut and Dubai crack me up. I wonder if there is a good reason for all that traveling? If so, I almost don't want to know--I'd rather imagine an episode of I Love Lucy, where Lucy accidentally gets put in charge of assigning postal routings and has to base her decisions on some criteria she makes up on the fly. It could be a hilarious episode.

This new ability to track packages is turning out to be a great source of comedy! Who'da thought?! And just think--it probably won't be long before the sorting centers will be space stations in orbit. I hope I'm alive long enough to be able to track those packages!

I hope you didn't buy from a non-Canon dealer. I have bought a few small things from Amazon and it turned out to be crooked sellers. They claimed it was sent to somewhere 1500 miles away. It was just part of there scam.
