There are stupid people in all professions and all job callings. I must confess I have even done some stupid
things myself. Think about it folks-- Stuff happens.

My camera was to be delivered today 1/10 and it was last reported 1/8 in Baltimore, where I live, I just checked and some dummy sent it to Rio.

That's ONE piece of mis-delivered mail. In the last two days we've received three pieces of mail that belong to neighbors. I know the problem, though. I went to get the mail just as the Postwoman was leaving. She'd left a package on the porch so I looked at it. The address was for our neighbor two houses down so I got her attention and she retrieved it. She had thick glasses which she had to look through sideways to look at the address, which I admit was small. She's subbing on the route since our old carrier took a new route. She's also a brand new hire. Looking through the rest of the mail there was another piece of mail for the same address. The day before there was a piece of mail for the odd side of the street. Who knows how much of our mail is misdirected. I'm going to keep a log and eventually send it to the USPS. Don't mean to rag on the girl, but the mail is important.

In 1865 it took the Pony Express 5 days to get a letter from St. Louis to Sacramento...and it still does!

I have an eBay purchase (Crest whitestrips for my wife) that is still showing as being in the local PO since 1/12. I think maybe the envelope stuck to the back of another and it was mis delivered and the receiving party never turned it back in. The seller is going to refund me when the "item not received" case is closed. That is supposed to be tomorrow. Thing is, the PO employee should have noticed something like that...

And a computer can screw things up unbelievably fast!!!

Being a computer professional since 1966 I have learned computers don't screw up anything. Humans do, because a computer will do what it is told to do over and over again without complaining. If it is told to do it wrong, it will. Especially by USPS employees. And it will fail if it isn't maintained well by a human.
