Ok great you have a D850, good for you. And lets see here, the Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 isnt sharp, is the Tamron Sharp? And all you take are snapshots.

Learn to use the tool, 6 good megapixels will do a nice 11x14, I've got great pics using a Fuji S-1 pro with an old 24-120 pre VR, I'm no pro, but I'm proud of my work.
I think its kind of like buying your own conch shell with nothing to say (Lord of the Flies)
The following were taken either with S-1 Pro or Coolpix 5000, 3.5 and 5 mgpxls
But if you're good! (David Pine) need Hyper prints or cropping Mega megapixels the D850 will certainly be more than enough

I agree it's mostly the ability of the photographer. But nice tools are great, too. Very nice set.

While my abilities are limited, I still want to work with the best tools available.
An 850 with a 24-70 2.8 would be a nice start.

Then buy an 8" x 10" view camera: 59.74 times more area than "full frame"
(which photographers used to call "miniature format").
With B&W film, that's eequivalent to about 1,195 megapixels =
approximately 1.2 gigapixels.

Yes, my phone will take those same shots. I can't figure out if you're complaining or bragging, or just angry cause all you have is a crappy little camera?!

What looks good a 4" x 5" doesn't always look good at 16" x 24".
That may or may not matter, depending on what one plans to do with an image.
But a 4" x 5" print stuck on the wall is kinda dinky--a little underwhealming.
A photograph is an object, not a disk file.

Figured out what I did wrong, thanks. I,m on my phone, better stuff on my computer at home, but being old these will do

If you use your phone you will have to crop a lot to get those same pictures.

I've progressed from a Nikon D40, Nikon D90, D800 and as of last month a Nikon D850. I've been pleased with all of the cameras and I like to think that I've grown with each camera body that I've owned. I would also say that the photographer is an important part of the equation relating to successful photography but I'm also aware these days of an almost "inverted snobbery" in saying that a good photographer should be able to get by with a 6mp camera. My 45.7mp D850 suits my needs and I must say it is light years ahead of the D800 that I used to own with regard to focus capabilities. I'm looking forward to growing with the camera. I've attached a photograph taken at a Superbikes event at Oulton Park in England.

Some people want more mega pixels some people need more mega pixels and those who can’t afford more mega pixels wish they had more mega pixels.
