So soft and furry just makes you want to give em' a big hug!

For newbies to macro, yes the tubes gave me much greater magnification, but this shot would have not been possible without a good flash solution.

Download to see the full quality of the shot. Canon 5Dsr, Canon 100mm f/2.8L attached to a full set of tubes. Shot at 1/160th, f/11, ISO 200 fully manual settings and a 1/16th power flash.

It makes me cringe and want to run. My cat, however, thinks they are a snack.

You told us the camera and settings you used, now tell us what kind of a spider is that.

The Spider is a Gray Wall Jumper, they are typically found on the walls and outside ceilings of buildings and structures.

No, I don't use tripods or rails when shooting, there is one guy here that does focus stacking from his handheld shots but I am not that steady or fast as these spiders don't stay still for very long. Martin Fisher, a member here has a 500px page and he does do stacking and his images are excellent. Me, I am just in it for fun and stacking seems like to much work. Macro has moved on a little bit from what I do which is mostly high magnification stuff like this here with a macro lens on tubes or I also do quite a bit of reversed lens stuff, but those that are trying to be the best of the best are certainly into stacking.

Extremely difficult if not impossible to successfully stack a moving spider. This is a great shot with terrific detail. I have been considering the purchase of a set of tubes for a while now. Thanks for sharing how you got the shot.
