This was taken at the Pittsburgh Zoo through retaining glass that left a HORRIBLE green cast. I tried to clean it up in PSE10, but it looks a little soft. I was under an overhang & leaning against a wall but I think the shutter was too slow even after I upped the ISO. I focused on the face but I think the DOF a little shallow. Here's the down & dirty:

Canon 7D, EF 100-400 IS USM f4.5-5.6 @ ~180mm, handheld.
Aperture Priority: f5.0
Shutter speed: 1/25
ISO @ 1600
IS: Active

Bummer, could have been a nice shot. I didn't want to boost the ISO any further for fear of noise.

PD

With the iso at 1600 you probibly could have set a faster shutter speed or lowerd the iso a little. Looks like too much light enterd the camera. I used to work at the Pgh zoo 30 years ago, it's changed a hell of a lot since then...great place for photo opps.

hi there. Do you have any post processing softwear. I have taken it and Used photoshop for you. Not sure if this is what you wanted... i hope this helps.

Its certainly frustrating when things done go they way you would have liked.

I do not use any fancy manipulation programmes but I put you snap into "Picasa" (free from Google) and clicked on "Feeling Lucky" and it produced this. Looks a bit better. You should try "Picasa", a great non-detructive programme.

There was probably a green tint in the glass. If you go back to the zoo look at the glass at an angle and see if it is green where it meets the window frame.

I brought this into Photoshop, converted from RGB to Lab color space, applied a Hue/Saturation filter and shifted from green towards red, then boosted the saturation, figuring that you lost some color going through the glass.

EDIT: Looks a little blander here on UHH than it did on my computer.

First you need to post the unaltered original photo. This image has been signifcantly altered, look around the edges of the cat's head where it's been de-colorized. I can't help you working from something that's already been messed up.

Mmm! My one click on "Picasa" seems to have done the job just as well!

Truly! All that camera data is pretty useless if you're not posting what came out of the camera.

RMM,

Not really. I do a monthly calibration on my screen with Spyder. It looks OK to me. Thank you!

The original.

mdeman meant that you should check the "(store original)" box. Otherwise, the image on UHH is just a reduced-size modified image.

My thoughts about your question has to do with the moment you take the pciture. I am aksing if you were using s cirular polarizer filter? CPF's help to cut any glare from glass and enhance colors a little bit. CPF is not able to do in PP what it can in reality.
