Well, you don't have to buy one. :)

Why is it that Nikon chose to limit their latest, greatest camera to Ultra HD 4K at 30 frames per second? Why could they not include 60 fps capability?

All Nikon is offering a measly 1080/120p.

Only 3 lenses? The 24-70mm f/4 S, 35mm f/1.8 S, and 50mm f/1.8 S. No serious lenses.
All your amazing AF lenses (Millions) are paper weights as far as features etc. (I remember many neophytes being told to get the expensive Nikons so the AF lenses will work that they were wanting to buy, what a waste of money for totally obsolete junk) At least your EF lenses are 100% functional from the first ones on and actually super enhanced with the R system.

One card slot. What a complete joke. Z7 pro model with the high end sensor and one slot and an expensive XQD slot at that which is apparently becoming obsolete as well.
Wow that is a risk if you are going to do any photography away from home.

Flip out rear screen another joke. Need a fully articulating one to really be serious for vlogging and other things that a flipper is just too lame for.

From reviews thus far the video focus is as bad as ever. Again why have video if your focus is a failure.

An f0.95 Manual focus lens? Why? You bought an AF camera and get a 1930's lens.

Why is it that Nikon chose to limit their latest, ... (show quote)

If only Nikon had had the wisdom to ask the members of UHH to design their new camera! It would have been easy to design and assemble, inexpensive, and have every feature known to photodom. : )

Dear Vet & Architect,
Negative comments about the UHH’s unmitigated love of Nikon or Canon have always been met with fierce responses.
As a former Nikon DSLR owner for many years, my transition to the preferred mirrorless SONY line has been highly rewarding in many ways. A great many Pros prefer it to their old cumbersome DSLR’s. But beware of criticizing the good old boys. They get very intense about their babies.

There are no failures here. The old guard is finally recognizing the camera market has been morphing. They know alot of the diehard DSLR customers will stick with those cameras but there is a whole other market that is out there they can no longer avoid. Having the old guard jump in means competition and competition is good. They have both jumped in with some good offerings which will only get better over time and catch up with some of the features that exist in the products of the mirrorless market leaders. Lastly, lets not criticize products that we have not yet gotten our hands on. The reality is cameras are a personal type of thing. Its about the way it feels in your hands, the usability melding with the photographer’s style, etc.

Yes I know.
They have spent many pages on another thread here bashing and trashing the Canon R camera.
I just wanted to see the reaction the other way and it has been predictable that they can not say a single negative thing about their beloved Nikon Z cameras even though they really are weak and incompatible with pretty musc all past system lenses etc.
I was wondering as they also spent over the years bashing Canon for mount change in the 80's now their beloved and worshipped F mount is totally abandoned and the new is virtually incompatible with all but the very most recent lenses. But there has been no comment on this at all.

Yeah, those old mount lenses will mount provided you have an "adapter". No different than Nikon so that is a moot point.
Architect1776 wrote:
At least Canon has 120% backward compatibility by actually improving upon the EF lenses as they are on the R cameras.
That is commendable.
Where all those AF Nikon lenses are just useless and not compatible with the Nikon Z system. Yes the "Mount" but so what?
Canon FD, FL, R and older lenses will all "Mount" and work just fine as they were built manually on the R system.
So Nikon really screwed their loyal braggart base gloating over not having lenses made obsolete.
And the single card slot is a complete joke no serious photographer would be caught dead with ever.
Finally the AF is not exactly stellar by any standard.

I cannot agree with you when you mention that Nikon is making old junk but I respect that anyone is entitled to an opinion.
If you need a mirrorless camera it is obvious that your choice is Canon. I do not believe that by doing that you will hurt anybody.

Some of these "mirrorless feature" complainers are probably the same ones who cried and yelled when Apple dropped the DVD burners in their laptops. But now, guess what?? Rarely do folks burn or use DVDs now. It's all cloud-based storage and transfer. I guess Apple engineers and marketers could see the future coming when customers couldn't. Could the same thing be coming with Nikon and Canon's mirrorless designs now? Hmmmmmmm......

Quite different than Nikon.
All Nikon AF lenses won't function.
All Canon EF lenses will function with enhanced functionality.
That is a plus for Canon.
And now with the RF system all FD, FL, R and rangefinder lenses easily mount and work with no extra glass element. Pretty awesome.

Canon saw the future in 1987 and anticipated it when film still ruled, mirrors were needed but made the EF such that when mirrorless came out all their EF EFs lenses would be 100% compatible with technology as it progressed without any loss of function or features. Pretty good for 30 year old design to still be on the leading edge.

Hell, I've got two vintage mirrorless cameras, and they both shoot 4x5" film!
