You are not alone longshadow. A little over 3 yrs ago I lost My Wife to cancer. After Her passing I became very close with My long-haired White Persian. She would follow Me every where, lay on My arms when I was at the laptop, and every night She would jump up in bed with Me and curl up next to Me so that She was touching My ribcage and lay Her head on My shoulder or across My arm. In may of this year She got real sick, real fast from congestive heart failure and it got to the point where I could not stand to see Her suffer any longer, and I had to have Her put to sleep one morning at the Vets office so that She could get some peace at the Rainbow Bridge. It broke My heart to lose Her, and I started to feel Her jump up in bed at night and rub against the back of My legs. One night I was about to doze off laying on my side and all at once I felt two paws land right in between My shoulder blades so hard that it startled Me. I put Miley's picture in a 5X7 frame on the night stand next to the bed and My Wife's picture and now that last thing I do each night is say goodnight to both of them. It is soo hard to lose a pet when You are really close to them.

So sorry for your loss. I have all the cat urns on a shelf of a bookcase in my bedroom and tell them goodnight as I turn off the light. It is very had to lose a pet and losing 3 in 4 weeks hit me hard and I was very depressed. Bringing home these new kitties has helped. They will never replace the ones I lost but will help me heal. I really feel that the ones I lost have sent me these 3 with their approval.
