July was a very bad month for me. Three of my 23 cats crossed Rainbow Bridge. One to gastric cancer, one to lymphoma and the third to complications from a heart murmur. They were 12, 17 and 18. The 12 year old, TJ, was a kitten when I adopted him from the pet shop where I work, Sammie I adopted from our local pound just before my husband passed away and Tinker I adopted from from the pound when he was 9. I miss them dearly and have been very depressed. Toss in the passing of a friend and a birthday and, well, not a good month.

Tuesday, I decided to adopt a momma cat from my vet's office and when I went to pick her up yesterday, I decided to adopt one of her kittens and another kitten that was being fostered but the girl doing the fostering called this morning and said she and her mom would like to keep her which I thought was a great idea. She asked if there was another kitten at the clinic that I was interested in and I said yes, there was a red tabby from another litter I would like. So, here are the new additions to my family. I have been very happy with my decision and look forward to years of love from them and my other 20 kitties, 1 dog and 5 birds.

I named mom Felicity and haven't decided on a name for her baby or red tabby yet. Just as an FYI, these are quick snapshots with a little pp.

You are a very special human to do this. I am going to find my two guys and engage in a massive pet/scratch/purr moment.

Thank you so much. I had each of them cremated so they will be with me but I miss seeing them follow me around and supervise my tasks of making their home comfortable and clean for them.

I'd swear I've occasionally felt our cat we lost jump up on the bed at night. Spooky.

We had a white and gray Shetland for 11 years. He use to walk under the table and lay his head on my knee when he wanted petted. For two to three years after his passing, I'd see white move out the corner of my eye, I'd feel his chin on my knee, or watch the duchies bark at nothing. We'd just say, "Hi Dakota!" And carry on. Enjoy his visits my friend. They will come less and less as time passes.

We have had the same experience. And sadly, it does diminsh with time.

To the OP, I feel your pain - we are still hurting daily from the loss of our noble Abbysinian, Duncan, last year, and our remaining Abby, Max, still grieves for him (vocally) nearly every day.

You are a special person for giving these sweet animals homes, and I feel sure you will meet them again at the rainbow bridge, as I hope to meet my old friends.

Beautiful cat and kittens. In the eyes of our Lord you are very special. Animals have been on this earth for longer than we have.
My wife, over a year ago, rescued a kitten from the street. The poor thing was walking erratically and falling often due to thirst and hunger. She even had a superficial infection on her right ear.
I thought she would not survive but she began to drink milk and water and 3 days later she was playing and running around the house. We took her to the Vet and began to receive treatment for the ear infection while getting her first vaccinations. She is now slightly over one year old, healthy, was neutered a few months ago, on a healthy diet and know us all enjoying playing with us. Recently she received all of her vaccinations.
She keeps us busy but I am glad my wife found her.
