I have been researching straps for my D3200. I was leaning towards the Fastfire vs the Blackrapid but when I went to purchase it was not available. I have ordered the Blackrapid. I will post the results.

I wondered all over France with a Fuji X-T20 kit (body, 3 lenses) with a PacSafe Camsafe V25 backpack. Including the entrance to the Louvre in Paris, one of the 2 Pickpocket capitals of Europe, without issue:

It also made a great carry on bag for the flight.

Bummer! Outta stock. Looks like a great bag.

It's not my intent to be a salesman but I've been using a FastFire Strap for several years. It's a cross body strap that is always ready. I have worn it for a month in Europe, a month in Turkey and a month in New Zealand all day every day. That includes some semi serious hiking. http://fastfirecamerastrap.com/

Great sale price but their out of stock. Go Figure!

I have gone to using a Cotton Carrier. It relieves strain on the neck and shoulders and makes carrying a camera all day less taxing. I have difficulty getting the camera off it. I can't imagine a thief being able to figure out how! Of course, they could slash the carrier, but they'd slash you in the process!

I just bought one of these camera straps and I love it. No more carrying the camera around my neck!

I agree with DSMELTZ. I have a slash proof strap with a metal wire running through it. I am going to Morocco with it in October.

I’ve been going to Europe as often as three times a year for more 40 years and have never had a single piece of camera gear stolen. Be alert to your surroundings (especially in places that are crowded), take the same sensible precautions you would take in the US, and try not to be careless and forgetful. Europe really isn’t a particularly scary place.

I have a camera sling strap. Goes across the shoulder. I usually have my hand on the camera so I am ready to shoot if I see something worth while. If anything, beware of your surroundings

I use an OpTech sling. They make straps too.

My A6500 is in my hand at all times by my side and it’s easy to slide it up and shoot quickly.

I think that carrying a camera with a neck strap is looking too much like a tourist. When we travel I carry my camera in a shoulder bag looped over my neck. I can retrieve my camera from my shoulder bag in about five seconds. This Lowepro camera bag is keeps my camera out of view and is very handy for quick shooting.

I always carry my camera in my hand, secured by a wrist strap. In my opinion, neck straps, especially ones with the camera type printed on it, invite thieves.

In addition to the comfortable shoulder strap that has been mentioned-I always keep one finger across my mounted lens shade. This will prevent your lens from being stolen off the camera in "tight quarters".

Europe is rife with pickpockets. As others have said, keep your situational awareness! Often, street performances are excellent places to take advantage of distracted tourists! In fact, they are often partners of the pickpockets. And a non-attached camera/purse can be (is) a target for a grab-and-run.
And do NOT even notice beggars, no matter how pitiful they look.
