Beautiful, Corky. I love seeing these big beautiful flowers growing along the river or in wetlands.
Thanks, Carol and so do Ellen and me and many times in the past we would take the boat out on high tide and slowly motor along looking over the marshes and some seemed to be almost covered with these beautiful white or pinkest cast blooms.
July always brings on the blooming of these beautiful wild "Swamp Rose Mallows" which we always enjoy viewing! Each blossom only lasts for one day but fortunately, there are many blooms on each cluster.

good job on your shots of these beauties. I think they might be cousins to the white rose of Sharon in my yard. lucky you to see these wild mallows, corky!

Thanks, Merry and think that both belong in the mallow family. Our next door neighbors have a white Rose of Sharon and early this morning I took a picture of one of its blooms and later showed it to Ellen and she did not believe me when I told her that it was a Rose of Sharon bloom, not a Rose Mallow. About the only difference that I could find was that the Rose of Sharon was somewhat smaller in diameter. Take care!
