July always brings on the blooming of these beautiful wild "Swamp Rose Mallows" which we always enjoy viewing! Each blossom only lasts for one day but fortunately, there are many blooms on each cluster.

Nicely done, Corky. Since they grow in our mashy areas we call them Marsh Mallows.

Lovely set, Corky and you certainly captured their beauty!! They almost look like my Rose of Sharon that sadly didn't make it this year.

Nice shots, Corky. They do look a lot like the Rose of Sharon flowers, maybe they're related?

Beautiful, Corky. I love seeing these big beautiful flowers growing along the river or in wetlands.

Thanks, Ken and Marsh Mallow is the name that always comes to my mind, but several local books always refer to them as Rose Mallows---matter of fact I had to dig one of these books out to refresh my memory as I could not think of the word rose. lol

Thanks, Angela, and they do resemble the Rose of Sharon, and our next door neighbor has a white one which is in bloom at this time!
