It was Jackie, Newk, and Duke for me! (Brooklyn Dodgers, for those who don't know...)

As a kid growing up in NYC I know who they were. I was lucky enough to go to games in Yankee Stadium, The Polo Grounds, and Ebbitts Field. Also watched The New York Football Giants play in the Polo Grounds.
I have been a 20-year season holder for The Giants. Not as cheap as it used to be. My wife wants to wait this year and then decide what to do. I'm going to miss her if she decides not to use her tickets.
Who gives a #$%^ about what someone who blocked you says?

Leave it just the way it is. Pay no attention to the holier than thou maroon on the other side of the internet. It looks just fine to me, I mean it's an avatar for crying out-loud.
maroon? are you calling the guy a firecracker? or do you mean moron?
Ive been blocked by 2 or 3 people and really dont miss them. One is a guy who thinks he's a better photographer than he is and the other is a right wing 5 year old with the dumbest arguments. I save a lot of time by ignoring their garbage now. Screw him/her.
Andy......Remember you are who you are. If people can’t accept you that way then it’s their problem and not yours.
God made you in His image and likeness therefore you will be perfect one day ..... not now since Adam and Eve goofed things up for the rest of us
Keep living and enjoy life to the fullest!!

If you click on the protestors avatar, do you start to hear banjo's playing and someone talking about what a pretty face you have?? Andy - Be who you want to be, do what you want to do, look how you want to look - I like your avatar, and I like the pic in the hat - but, be who you want to be...trolls are coming, like zombies...or a big maroon (was that from the "Bugs Bunny" cartoon days?? Heck, I still don't have an avatar, guess I need to work on that, just couldn't decide....

Thanks, everyone. I just posted the question wondering whether others shared that opinion of my snapshot avatar. I did change it, but only because LaurenT said I looked "dapper" in the new one. At my age, "dapper" is about as good as it gets!

Thanks, Mikey, but he doesn't have an avatar. He's been a member here for about three weeks. I won't "out" him, but it doesn't look like he has much experience.
Andy
You should have included the sender’s user name in your quote of their message so all the decent folks on here could put him/her on our ignore list.

Ah ha, its a "noob boob".....when I was new here I didn't even feel worthy to post for months, let alone pick on anybody.... You liked that "dapper" comment, and at my age I'd be good with that!!!! Personally I like fun / funny avatars, whether they make sense or not. Seeing pics of other members is good too.....but unless you actually know the person, it could be fake and who would know, who would care! And, the pic with the cap reminds me a lot of Andy Capp, from the Brit cartoon...…………..

Who says an avatar has to be perfect or realistic for that matter?
Exmple, look at mine.
I don't see what the big deal is or why someone would get bent
out of shape over it.

Point taken. I grabbed a quick, one-handed snapshot in a mirror for the purpose of creating an avatar, parodying the famous self portrait by a photographer I can't recall. It's not exactly a demonstration of photographic skills, but at least it covered most of my face. Here are two better shots, although they do reveal more of my old and ugly mug. Should I switch?
