You may need to check our history (Europe) and see the similarities in the mindset of the government and its people of today’s America. Of course I welcome your expertise to prove me wrong.

"Trust me, it is already very Nazi like" That is freaking ridiculous.

How so? Are we not already separating Hispanic children from their parents and holding them in cages? Entering illegally is a misdemeanor. Don’t forget that.

This is sort of a meaningless series, as it is a proven fact that some terrorists DO USE PHOTOGRAPHY to scope out targets.

But, here is a link that was in the click-bait column that is revolutionary for photographers all over.

Glad you see any infractions to your constitutional rights as "meaningless". I personally don't choose to trivialize these matters. I know some see the Constitution as a "pesky piece of paper", but I don't. Also, it would be polite on YOUR part, to not try and highjack a thread.

I just wonder what is Homeland Security going to do with the many tourists visiting and photographing in Washington DC.
Here in Miami I have had a good share of public places that have not allowed me to photograph. Photographing children without parent's consent is against the law in Miami-Dade county.

Is it? That doesn't sound right.

Do you mean to say that on public property where children are in plain sight with no expectation of privacy it is against the law to take a picture of them?

I'd like to see that in writing, I don't believe it.

Please don't tell me you are trying to draw a serious parallel to the INS detention of illegal aliens and their offspring and the horrendous crimes of Nazi Germany.

You cannot be that clueless.

Looks like the Department of Homeland Security has started a new campaign that essentially links photography and terrorism. Stand by for loss of common sense with both law enforcement and the general public. Link to the Petapixel article in next post.
Read George Orwell 1984. It is here in 2018. Took a while.

Do you remember that there was that wall in east Germany?

If I had to bet money, I’d guess that you are in favor of the wall Trump wants to build?

Are you really this clueless? Really?

Yes...as all criminals are.

Unfortunately you can thank the Obummer administration for that.

This is a complex problem which is exacerbated by our free flowing border allowing criminals to come in by the thousands.

A nice big wall is the most humane thing we could do at this point but until then...we have the choice to cut the children loose without their parents, deport them, or try and keep them together while the court process is ongoing.

Yes. What in the world does that have to do with anything being discussed here or my question to your comment?

You bet! All sovereign nations have enforceable borders....we need to fix ours and fast.

Let me slow down and process what you've just asserted.

1.) The German Democratic Republic built a wall to separate East Berlin from West Berlin in 1961.

2.) President Trump is building a wall at the US border.

3.) Therefore Trump's administration is the same as Nazi Germany.

Thanks for illustrating your level of intelligence.

That should do it for this thread.

Maybe it is your ignorance, or your mind set that resonates with what is going on in this country, either way it is encouraging a police state. And btw, the last time I checked, white man came here illegally and took over this country, or am I mixing up my history? Look at the natives. Is that what you are afraid of? The same fate?

Are you really this ignorant? Man West Virginia does have a reputation and you sure don’t disappoint. What is the Trump administration doing about the thousands of European criminals who are coming to this country? Are you even worried about those illegals? And you are questioning my intelligence?

With all due respects, the intent of this thread was to provide a "heads up" about the lack of common sense that seems to follow these acts and initiatives, and to help others be better prepared for any encounters with LEO, that may follow this program. I have great respect for our law enforcement personnel, but, as with any group, there's always the few that seem to go further, or try to read more into, the actual intent of the program/act/law-this is what I was trying to warn about. Sorry for starting a war.

They are chipping away our rights piece by piece and this message is following in that direction.

To get back on topic, photographing from a public space, anything that you can see is a constitutionally protected LEGAL activity. For HLS to encourage the Fox News watching paranoids to report another person for simply exercising his or her right is extremely irresponsible. You did notice that they didn’t say a word about photography being 100% legal. If terrorists want pictures, all they need to do is use the services of Google earth.

What is next? Report your neighbor for driving a vehicle? Is that the next terrorist activity?
