You can actually buy a signature created personally for you if you want to do that but I do not know if it will be resizable; you'd have to ask that question. You can also buy a "fancy" font and install it on your computer and create a font that way in PS or LR. If you want two lines, you can create that in Photoshop and then export and import into LR. Or, you can actually create two lines in LR but it can be a bit tricky. I created mine but can't remember if I did it in PS or LR. There are lots of way to create a signature. In LR you can use both the Identity Plate and Watermark function as needed. Obviously, I use LR.
As said lightroom will do it as part of the export function but you have to create each one and then add it to your list. (color, letter style, size, positon etc)
So I mostly do it in photo shop:
1. using the color selection eyedropper I pick a color from the image (often one in only a small area) that will not blend into the place I plan to put the signature but ties into the image.
2. using the "T" text tool I pick a font, size etc then put the cursor where I want the left edge of the signature to be and type it in (hold Alt key and hit 0 1 6 9 to make the copyright symbol)
3. save image back to LR
4. export or print etc from LR
With practice I can do this in less time than it takes to go to the menu in LR export and select a pre-made signature.

Like many, I purchased a signature logo from Photologo, cost me $40. You add it in Lightroom by creating a Watermark under Edit\Edit Watermarks and add it as a graphic element. Lightroom makes it very easy. The watermark is added as part of the Export process.
I only add Watermarks to images posted on line, not printed out.

Me too. I set up the watermark in the export box in LR and created a preset. Will post a screenshot later when I am one my main computer instead of my iPad

Lightroom has the ability (in the export, I think) to automatically apply your copyright info to what ever part of the image you want it...(upper left, upper right, upper center, center left, center, center right, lower left, lower center, lower right or diagonally across the image). There is also, the ability to use an image file as your logo (either with a text or instead of a txt logo). I can't remember exactly how to do it, as I set it up several years ago and have never changed it.. Mine is script font and in lower right hand corner. I also have my copyright info in the metadata of the image (which is more difficult to remove without leaving traces that the image was altered). Several companies offer a program or app.. or the ability to generate and include a digital encrypted copyright, that is nearly invisible, hidden in the image, that is nearly impossible to remove without destroying the image. Lightroom is very good at allowing you to easily and automatically install this protection into every image. The manual (and many of the Lightroom Instructors have video tutorials on how to do this... Check the manual, Anthony Morganti, Laura Shoe, and most of the other Lightroom teachers.

Did you know that most of the better cameras let you enter copyright and photographer info right in the picture's metadata? That stays with the image even if it doesn't appear on the image.

I only really place Copyright and a Signature on a print that I am actually distributing, say by giving or selling it to someone. My files have electronic of digital IDs from my cameras. I have Ps CS6 so I use that. There are a number of ways to place a signature on an image.

You can put a watermark on an image in Lightroom. It's an option in the export dialog.
But if you are serious about copyrighting a photo, you need to register it with the Copyright Office in Washington DC. A watermark ain't worth squat if you end up in court attempting to defend your right against unauthorized use of an image.
A lot of great answers how to do this; but, this was what came to my mind first!
Great response
I don't know what a signature is for except for advertising. Anyone can remove it and claim the photo for their own.
I made a brush out of my signature in Photoshop. When I'm done with editing, I make a new layer, I stamp it with the brush, then take down the opacity to make it not so bright and obtrusive.

And if you don’t have PS or LR you can also do it easily with Fastone (free). Just save your signature or copyright as a .png file (transparent background) and apply.

ON1 watermark. All copyrite info is in the medadata
It's SO easy to do in LR. As Jim Quist mentioned, it's part of the export dialogue.
