That signature is a bit obvious. Why not in a corner like the great artists? Unless it is a proof or sample you are showing here you are showing it is a bit obvious and detracts from the image. I use an Embosser which takes little away from the image but will be seen close up easily and on the back side of the image I use an ink stamp that boldly asserts my copyright and the date as well as what I named the image.

Yep! Obvious IS the word. :-)

Personally = I like it THAT way.

On my website I do state that the "watermark" is for Display On-Line ONLY - And that the "watermark" is NOT on the prints that any person may make a purchase thereof. I have had only one complaint in the 10 years that I have been posting. That was from one "admirer" on Facebook that did not like it. ((I know full well what she wanted = To DL the image to print herself. And even IF she did that it would only make a 4X6 postcard, not even a good 8.5X11 inch print, as I keep the resolution low and the size to 12X8.))

So - Yes - Obvious is the word I would use.....

Thank You.

(Other photographs will, and should, have their own way of doing things = This is mine.)

E.O.D.

Ok, here’s how to do it in Elements.
Create your logo or signature in PowerPoint, on a piece of paper, anything. The background can be white or any color with good contrast to the logo. Make an image of it:
• If with a camera, transfer it into a folder in Pictures, we’ll call it “Logo”.
• If snip, first zoom to nearly fill the screen and snip. Even at 96 ppi, when you later shrink it to usable size, it will have high enough definition for printing.

Make your Logo Master:
• Open your Logo image into Elements.
• Reset the logo size and definition. Press Ctrl+Alt+I. Uncheck Resample Image. Set the document size to Inches and set either the height or width to the size you want. The other will follow suit. If you shrunk it considerably, your ppi will go way up. If it’s over 300 ppi, you’re ok. If it’s less than 300 ppi, check the Resample Image box and set it to 300. Close the Image Size Window.
• Press “E” to get the Erase Tool. You want the one with the Yellow Star. Keep pressing “E” until you get it.
• Set the Tolerance to below 20, Opacity=100%. If there is the same color in your logo that you want to save, check Contiguous. If not, for instance, if you have a cursive signature with loops, uncheck Contiguous.
• Click the eraser tool once in the background. It should all disappear.
• Save your Logo Master as a PNG file. This will retain transparency.

Add your logo to an image.
• Open both your target image (for this discussion we’ll call it “Target”), and your Logo Master in Elements. Make sure that Target is in the Preview area.
• Open the Photo Bin and click+drag the Logo Master up and onto Target. It will be centered with brackets. If you can’t see the Logo Master, look at your layers bin. The Logo Master Layer is probably below the Target Layer. Click+drag that Layer to the top of the stack and your Logo Master will become visible.
• Press “V” to get the Move Tool. Wand over the Logo Master until its border handles show. Click+drag Logo Master to where you want it and resize it. If the Logo Master is small and you have trouble grabbing it, move the cursor well outside the Logo Master and drag it slowly toward the Logo Master. When Elements sees it, it will get a blue border. Click on the blue Border and the Move Tool will lock on it.

When you’re satisfied with your logo placement, save the image as a JPEG of PNG. You’re done.

I don't know what a signature is for except for advertising. Anyone can remove it and claim the photo for their own.

Removing a watermark is step 1 in copyright infringement. Step 2 is filing a lawsuit.

I agree with this post, signatures can ruin an excellent photograph!

Stay focused my friend! The question was not do you like to sign your photos or not it was how to put text on photos😊

That really wasn’t the question was it? I didn’t see anywhere in the OP where he said “what do you think about signatures on images”. Did he?

I never superimpose anything on my images. But if you feel it's necessary keep it small in the lower right corner.

An alternative you can experiment with on some throwaway prints is doing your signature by hand with an ultra-fine Sharpie.

Works well unless your signature is like mine. Very hard to read. So I use and embosser with my initials or I just add a layer to a PSD.
