Since you asked, I think you need an 850.

I thought you would say, at least two!

I also have a D7200 and D500 and agree with others here that a D7500 is a downgrade from the D7200. They went from 24mp to 21mp and 2 mem cards to 1 mem card for only 1fps faster (6 - 7). I'd go with the D850 (45mp and 64 to 25,600 ISO) unless all your lenses are DX, in which case its not only the cost of the new body, but the cost of new FX lenses.

Since I love to spend other peoples money, I say you need to buy both.

Without belaboring the point others made so eloquently: why do you need the D850? You already own two outstanding DX cameras--perhaps the two best. Have you checked into the price, size and weight of high-quality FX lenses? You can't just get the D850 without buying the top glass worthy of it. I too would love to spend your money, but if it was my money I first would analyze my needs and figure out what kind of lenses I would need to make the D850 work for me.

What to do, what to do????

Without reading all of the other replies..... Get the D7500 and the D850.. You don't want to get left behind do you??

What will the 7500 or the 850 do for you that the 7200 and the 500 don’t do for you.
Nikon is counting on you wanting wanting the latest of everything.

Do not fall for the corporate pressure to spend money. Do you really need a D850 or would be cool to have one? Are you a pro? You currently have more "camera" than you will use.

Wait for the D860, it will make the 850 as obsolete as a D800e

If you own a D500 why would you want a D7500?
The D7500 is just a cut down version of the D500!
If you buy a D850 it would be best to buy all new lenses as it is a full frame camera.
If you want to go to full frame and you can afford it just make the leap.

You already own the D500. Why would you want a D7500. A lesser camera. Go for the D850, though you might have a wait. Nikon probably has an abundance of D7500's whereas the D850 are hard to come by.

Buy the 850, but keep the 500 for a while as you will find yourself using both.

You won't be satisfied with anything less than a D850
