I want to thank everyone for your help. Sounds like some great places to visit. Thanks so much
Actually, Jim, I spent my college years in Asheville. Since then I have told folks that that area is probably the closest I will ever get to Heaven. Have a wonderful and safe trip.
Make sure you check all the roads in the area. Some have been under repair due to all the rain recently causing rock and mud slides.
Read it again under the heading "Inside the Biltmore House" second paragraph. The problem is the majority of uninformed amateur folks taking photos do not know how to disable their auto flash units. Flash units emit ultraviolet light which will seriously over time degrade any color imagery whether photos, paintings or fabrics. Check out why all museums restrict photos; it is absolutely irresponsible to ignore these policies. As photographers we should all know better.

Do you mean this part:
"Photo Policy
Thank you for helping us preserve the integrity of the Biltmore name and image by cooperating with the following policies.
Inside Biltmore House:
Taking photographs by cell phone or cameras, without flash, is permitted on the self-guided tour for personal use only. No commercial photography is allowed. Photography is not permitted on specialty tours inside Biltmore House.
Video cameras, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, or any other photography equipment are not allowed inside Biltmore House. For the safety and convenience of all guests, group photos must be taken outside of Biltmore House."
Therefore, non-commercial, personal use photography is allowed in Biltmore House provided that 1) flash is NOT used, and 2) you are not part any of the specialty (or guided) tours offered.
I think your initial post indicated that no photography was allowed inside Biltmore House. That is not the case. It is allowed provided it's within the guidelines stated.

Thanks so much. We are touring the Biltmore Estate and doing a night visit to the CHIHULY Exhibit at night outside
The gardens there are beautiful and would make amazing pictures if you like photographing flowers. The house itself is amazing but unfortunately no photos allowed inside. There is so much to do and explore in NC. The blue Ridge Parkway is also great and there are waterfalls near there. There is also Cades cove near Gatlinburg, TN which is only a couple hours drive and has an abundance of photo ops.

Photos ARE allowed inside the house, maggiemae, as long as certain rules are followed. A complete and careful reading of this page from their website explains the rules.
