Happens here on the mainland, too. Last September my nephew and I drove to Mt. Rushmore as part of a big auto trip, and it was socked in so badly one could barely see someone standing just outside the car. Bummer!

Glad you did get some shots of opportunity, though.

I wanted grand vistas showing the rolling layers. I wanted blue skies and maybe some white puffies. I got dense fog and constant rain. But I did get a bear and some elk and a LOT of spontaneous waterfalls.

Very nice AzPicLady

I guess that's why we need to learn to improvise. Multiple interests really help! Thanks so much for dropping in.

Don't be disappointed, Kathy! These are good shots, and as you know, you get what you can get!

Thank you, Sue. I DID go with some preconceived pictures that I wanted. I even knew where I wanted to take them. I was disappointed that I didn't get those pictures. But I am pleased with what I did get. Particularly all those little waterfalls!

All of the downloads were very beautiful, Kathy, and we encountered very similar conditions several years ago when we started in the Smokys and then traveled the entire length of the Blue Ridge Parkway---fog so thick that we had difficulty seeing the pavement markings at times almost every day, but we had plenty of time scheduled so still had a great time and stayed at the park's campsites each night.

Thanks so much, Swamp-Cork. I had intended to drive the BRP through the park, but I missed the turn-off in the fog, so I stayed on 321. That was the thickest fog I experienced.
