Because of the radical difference of the exterior colors...largely blues...and the interiors...primarily golden, I am much more attracted to that shot. The black and white effectively eliminates that particular contrast. I like both shots, but the color one, in this case, is for me by far the more interesting. I don't know if you have more of the top available to use, but if you could show the entire curve it would make the shot even better. (In my opinion only.) Either way, it's a great composition.
