This individual worked for Nikon and retired out with a back problem ...the filers were custom made and cost more than my D850 ..

I have a psychological block against buying any camera equipment that costs more than my first house.

If you could get the 1200-1700 in f1.4 you probably couldn't pick it up.

This is, in fact, the proper way to carry the Nikkor 1200-1700mm f/5.6-8.0 super telephoto lens. Weighing in at 36 pounds and measuring nearly 3 feet in length, the manual focus lens was introduced in 1993 and had a hefty price tag of $60,000.

If you’re a bit of a cheapskate, you need to stick to Nikon.
The Canon 1200mm prime can’t be touched for less than $250,000!!! LoL

BTW, is that a real foto? Just that it’s the only pic I ever see posted?!?!

Not sure if it's real but it would be hard to fake that unless someone made a fake lens.

How much use can you get out of a long manual focus telephoto?

I would sure want to mount those lenses on mirrorless bodies to save weight.
A DSLR body would just be too heavy.πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹

And here is the camera to use with it. Just need to order the longer rail to support it.

You can own the world's first single shot 8Γ—10 digital camera for $106,000. If Ansel Adams hears about this, he's coming back!

Just found this somewhat dated video comparing a long lens to a bridge camera. The video can be funny at times.

Wonder is that lens will work with a teleconverter. Otherwise, not interested.

And most of those original BADASSES are still working and producing outstanding images. I wonder how many Tamron and Sigma lenses from 1993 are still around taking "as outstanding" images as this legendary Nikon?

I'd like to know if there's an adapter so that it would fit my Sony A6000. Anybody know ?
