This series illustrates how much changing light a change a photograph of the same subject.

(#72) Around sunrise looking east.
(#73) Around mid day, on a different day, still looking east.
(#74) Around dusk. Notice how a lot of the sky is "blue" and contrasts nicely with the warmth of the lights and light reflection. This is known as the "blue hour", a good time to shoot cityscapes.
(#75) Another example of the "blue hour". Just around dusk, but after sunset, and we still have a bit of blue sky and the warmth of artificial light. A little latter the sky turned boring black.

That's it.
Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions.
Richard

Richard, very well done photos. I love the colors and richness that you have captured here. That first shot is dynamite!

Richard, what a wonderful and detailed tutorial regarding shooting with regard to lighting!! This is one of the very best I have ever had the privileged to enjoy! Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to produce this learning tool. It is as I said above, wonderful.

I do have one comment, which I almost do not dare to state as I am truly in the presence of greatness (I mean that totally). Here goes, and no criticism is intended, but (there it is the dreaded "but" word) for those of us so eager to learn, it would be much easier to follow the tutorial if the detail discussion you write as to each photograph were placed immediately preceding that particular photograph, rather than in a list form prior to the posting of the photographs. I may, I honestly do not know, be much more difficult to post on this forum this way, but I think being able to read everything you say and then immediately view the photo would make it easier to learn.

Regardless, I surely hope you are not offended with my comment. I would truly love to see you and other experts continue such great tutorials and photographs as it is a wonder way to learn! Thank you so much for posting this thread! Tom

Thanks very much, for the kind words.
Re this forum format. I have seen easier ones to work with (some of which are now defunct). If I ever do another tutorial here, I will keep your suggestion in mind.

Yes Tom, those are my thoughts too, as it would be easier to follow and I am sure that Richard will not be offended with our suggestion.

We both are very grateful to him and I am sure that other members are too that he has taken the time to explain in detail what he did.

There should be a separate section for topics such as these for Learners where we would feel more comfortable in asking questions.
