Personally I do go for the arty stuff myself, or at the very least the not overly predictable stuff. There are some terrific software packages nowadays and the female form lends itself perfectly for that sort of interpretation. It is all about experimenting (as you seem to be aware) to begin with, and to finding out what works with what. And once that is understood to a reasonable level it amazing how the quality of work increases dramatically. When I look back on my very early work I shudder but there's no way I would chuck it out as it was an important part of my learning and improving (and it gives me a laugh from time to time ). I think it is a good thing that you sought feedback on this image. Of course everyone's interpretation will be different but we can all always improve. I guess that's the fun and challenge of photography.
