As already mentioned, for us west coast folks, Samy's is our go to store especially the store on Fairfax. I've purchase all my gear from Samy's Culver City store. I grew up in Culver City so it's like going to my old stomping grounds. If you need a contact or have questions you can call their Culver City store at (310) 450-4451 and ask for Boyd. He is the store manager and a really good guy and knows his stuff. Although I haven't been in the store in recent months, you can even mention my name, I'm pretty sure he'll remember me. Tell him Lane Joel from Beaumont referred you. Might make a different and might not but can't hurt. Good luck in your purchase.

Yes, Samy's is reputable. I live in Orange County, California and do business with their Santa Ana store frequently.

They offer school classes and training. They have supported Hollywood and the professional industry for over 40 years.
They are one of the 'Good' guys on the list.

I have purchased from Samy's both from through their website - and from the LA (Fairfax location) and Pasadena (Walnut St, but recently relocated) retail stores. Great service and selection. My experiences have all been good.

Samy's in Costa Mesa is my go-to place for what I cannot find at my local store. Have not been to the large one in LA.

In no particular order B&H, Adorama, KEH, Cameta, Robert's, MPB, National CX and now Samy's as viable options for on-line sales. Thank you to all who confirmed Samy's and responded.

I've bought a lot from them. Always very reliable and knowledgeable.
I've never actually been into one of the stores but buy mail-order.
I pay CA. tax to keep my money in state.

Turns out I did not purchase the lens from Samy's. A UHH member was selling a copy of the lens as mint and the Samy's copy has some issues so I went with the private sale. Going forward I will not have any hesitation dealing with Samy's and appreciate all the feedback.

Have bought several used items at Samy's Camera, have had to send all items out to be cleaned. Bought a 5D and shortly after purchase, had to send to Canon to have the mirror re set.
