We have all seen thousands of pictures of the moon or egrets or great blue herons. Are we supposed to continue to admire the same old same old. As a teenager with the luck of owning a Chevy van with a sliding side door my friends and I never tired of SHOOTING THE MOON.
How’s the air up on that pulpit?😜

This site is devoted to photography. You'll notice that the Photo Gallery section is the largest. With over 80,000 members, we're bound to see similar shots. Not everyone can travel to exotic locations or do super-duper processing, so they shoot what's available and appealing to them. I don't post very often because most of what I shoot is trees, mountains, and streams. For me, the pleasure is the shooting and processing, not necessarily posting. It's easy enough to skip the title in the Photo Gallery that you don't want to see.
One thing we should all be thankful for is the large number of people who post here regularly and offer good advice. I'm on forums for different topics, and they aren't very active, so posting a question is unlikely to get me a good answer.
There are a few on here that are formulaic processors. Their photos look exactly the same with the same subject matter time and time again. I tend to skip over their posts for that very reason. My personal preference is landscape. However, there again, it's the same general subject time and time again. However, each scene is photographed differently and processed similarly.
Now, I'll put this question to you. What would you consider "something new"?

No you are not the only one who feels this way. We are all dying to see some of your shots that are something new and not demonstrations of competence with tired subjects.
Here are some things that are different......I think. All from Lancaster, Pa.

My question is....why let it bother you! You can look at whatever you want, and ignore whatever you want. I will bet a dollar to a donut hole, that if ANY photographer goes back and reviews his/her portfolio, said photographer will find plenty of "repetitiveness!"

I SO agree with you! I got into photography about ten years ago when my sons did high school wrestling. I quickly realized a nice point and shoot could not handle the task, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Now I shoot rugby for my son’s team website (league & union...some semi-pro), horse shows, and lots of wildlife. I wish I were better with editing, but with all the activities I engage in (sailing, horses, RVing, travel) I just haven’t found the time.
My hubby use to play with film and develop his own images, but I have left him behind with my new avocation. He tells people I went from technophobia to geekamania over a six month period while he was playing Captain on oil tankers.
I realize I am getting a bit long-winded here...but for me, half the fun is the challenge of handling a number of lenses (macro to 150-600, plus wide angle and fisheye) in a number of somewhat challenging environments (China, Africa, Galapagos) and capturing relatively superior photos than my travel companions.
My husband and I work well as a team. He lugs the gear and I use it, lol. He’s had a lot of practice because I drive a homebred and trained father/son pair and if he isn’t in tune with them while I am harnessing and driving they can get naughty.
I enjoy the banter here in UHH, and appreciate the wealth of knowledge as well as getting a chuckle out of the occasional snarkiness. I don’t post photos often because I am mediocre at editing and often just upload SOOC. Here are a few, and I sure hope I don’t bore the OP 😆:

Yes. Sadly it's only the honest politicians that are extinct!
If it is all boring go to the street photography section. Probably our genus will provide more non- repetitive variety than any other subject. You will find two gentleman that post regularly, Voss and Sats that should more than satisfy your quest for variety in postings.
