I must be in the total minority...a neanderthal so to speak. I have only one in use camera and one lens. I do have a film camera but haven't used it in 10 years.
Rich...

Haha, right there with you...
One DSLR, two lenses, and a Sony H1 purchased prior to the DSLR.

I have Nikon (D2x, D7200, D500, D610, D800, D810, D850 and D4). I use them as follows:
1. D2x for experimental photography, bellows, reverse rings etc.
2. D7200 for bird shooting when I need a little crop room.
3. D500 for the 1.5 reach and for wildlife shooting with my ff lenses.
4. D610 when shooting around my family as if the grand-kids break it no big deal.
5. D800 fabric shooting when I suspect moire.
6. D810 and D850 for landscape, portrait and macro.
7. D4 for low light shots (sometimes I use the D8XX series as they do a somewhat decent job)

Over the months I have been viewing UHH, I've seen lots of posts and photos indicating that some members have not just one or two, but many DSLR bodies. I'm curious if this is something necessary for the kind of photos they need to do, or just a trail of GAS? If you have several bodies (camera bodies, that is) do you use them all? How do you use them differently? Thanks

I only have one; the Nikon D850. Thinking about a Canon g1x iii when I want to lighten my load but waiting for more reviews. Otherwise, maybe a Canon g7x ii or Sony rx100 v.

That is one hell of a camera. Nice

I have one DSLR one Rangefinder each has its own lens kit and I have a pocket camera.
Honestly I wish I had one camera kit for everything. I do fight GAS because it is fun to try new things.
....but cameras aren't there yet and tech keeps changing.

Well, I have several cameras, from film to digital. I have bought them over the years and I kept them. Yes, I use them although film cameras do not have the use they used to have.
I have a D7000 that I use for action and BIF. My D610 is almost a natural for sceneries. My Olympus mirrorless cameras are used often for their excellent image quality and convenience since they are small and light. Those little cameras are a dream when it comes to spend a day hiking or when traveling.
We do not need so many cameras. Usually a couple of bodies are more than enough.

One full frame DSLR, 3 crop sensor, one point and shoot, one 110 set, three 6x6 , one 6x7 SLR, and about seventy 35mm film bodies, most of them are Pentax.

I have a huge collection of cameras bought over a 50 year span but at any given time I have only actively ever used 3 of them. In film days I found the need for 2 or three bodies as I wanted to use different films or be ready with a different ISO film. Now I use three, a very casual pocket point and shoot that is always with me or in the car, another better somewhat pocketable 1" sensor bridge camera for family photos around town or on vacation and then a high quality camera for my own "creative" photography.

Given that DSLR's are updated every 3 years or so its easy to have a collection of them. Resale value also falls when the next upgrade to the body's are announced. I have 4 DSLR's but I only have one of each lens.

I have a Nikon D7100 (DX which gives a 1.5 multiplier on FX lenses) and a Nikon D610 Full frame. ALL of my lenses (I get FX only) will work well on both cameras. So when shooting nature, I put a wide up to maybe 50mm on the D610 full frame and my telephotos on the D7100. This lets me use each camera/lens combo to its best.

I have 2 dslrs. Crop sensor and full frame. I used to have a Nikon 1j3, sold it and just recently bought a Lumix gx85 for traveling light. I rarely do sports photography but the d500 looks very inviting. Not looking to replace my d7000 yet, but my D750 gets the most work.
