Over the months I have been viewing UHH, I've seen lots of posts and photos indicating that some members have not just one or two, but many DSLR bodies. I'm curious if this is something necessary for the kind of photos they need to do, or just a trail of GAS? If you have several bodies (camera bodies, that is) do you use them all? How do you use them differently? Thanks

I needed two, one for wildlife and sports, a DX D500, and one for portraits and landscape, a FX D750, then one for my daughter, one for my wife, one for my other daughter, and finally, one for my grandson. They were all too cheap to buy their own, so to save mine, I needed to buy them one. LOL

I currently have two DSLRs and one mirrorless digital camera. I use only the D7100 and the Fuji XE2s. Imhavent sold the D300 because it’s a much better camera than it’s worth. I may eventually convert it to IR. I have 7 or 8 film 35mm cameras and one 120film camera. Most of the film use is the FM2 and the Fujinon GSW645 for 120 film. since these were purchased over an eight year period, I wouldn’t consider them GAS attacks.

I have 5 DSLRs, 9 mirrorless, 3 bridge and 3 P&S cameras. I know I don't need this many cameras, but I like trying different ones and seeing what they can do and how good they are. I do use all of them at different times, according to what kind of shooting I will be doing.
I just haven't found the one perfect, do it all camera that satisfies me yet.
Oh, and I also have an assortment of film SLRs too.

I have 3 DSLR's 2 P&S and 2 Bridge. My problem is I hate getting rid of older gear and still pull them out from time to time. I regret to this day getting rid of my Pentax SLR's during a move years ago, loved those old thread mount film cameras (SPII and SP500). My main DSLR is the D7200 and second is the Canon T3i (had to use the air miles points or I would lose them so picked picked up the Canon with points a few years ago). I use the Canon because its so light in the woods or if I am worried about rain or contamination. My third is a Nikon D50. Only 5MP but I still like it. I leave an old Sigma 70-300 with Macro on the D50 and use it for any Macro shots I want to take.

I have five, sony a-77 used for 95%+ of my shooting, sony a-37, bought to convert to IR, minolta a-7, film camera that uses all my minolta lenses, canon ae-1, bought fortyish years ago and can't part with it and a canon sx-30 bridge. They all have their place for me.

In Nikon, I have a D750 and a D7200 for current use. That is my serious digital traveling kit. The cameras do somewhat different things but are close enough that I have a back up camera while traveling. I also have a small D3300 which I sometimes set up for street photography. It also serves as a backup if I pack a smaller and lighter DX kit. I have retained an old Nikon F2 photomic. And, I have a Nikon B700 super zoom which all family members use. The super zoom is handy for distant wildlife and is actually quite fun.

I also shoot old Leica film M cameras, acquired over many years.

I have more cameras than I need, but I do use them all.

I like B&W film. With the F2 I can use longer lenses than are practical or possible with the Leica M cameras.

If it were easier to travel with film, I would probably not use digital for personal use, other than for wildlife and sports. I always use digital when shooting for others (e.g. wedding, birthdays, etc.) with dual card slots.

No GAS. TWO DSLR'S, One Dx and one FX. Depending upon what I am shooting. When I go out into the fie
ld, I take both and my lens assortment

Mine are all listed below, different tools for different jobs. All offer things the others don't and have very specific specialties.

I have 3 older DSLRS (one of which sounds as if it is going to fail soon). One was a case of GAS
When shooting for "clients", as well as vacations that will never be repeated, it is good for backups.

Nowdays I have two identical mirrorless as my day to day cameras and for shooting classical music concerts for a "client".
One has fast "standard zoom" and the other has a fast long zoom. This means I do not have to change lenses in the dark, during performances, and I also have a back up.

I tend to keep things if they still work but upgrade as the technology advances. My first digital was a Sony Mavica CD 300, and it still works 18 years after I bought it. First DSLR, Canon EOS 10D followed by the 20D then 40D then 50D then 60D. I bought a used 7D from a friend who was raising funds to get a 1D IV. I got a 70D to do video and 6D for formal posed shots. I bought a used 30D just because I did not have one. I didn't plan on getting a 5DS or 5DSR but a friend let me use her 5DS and I was in awe of its resolution so for Christmas that year I got a 5DSR. Pre-ordered the 80D and had it the first day it hit the streets. Before the 80D I bought a 7D II primarily for shooting birds. My daughter is always borrowing my 6D and the 5DSR is not really a good daily shooter so I bought a 5DIV. I was given a few Nikkor lenses and had no body to use them on so I got a D7200. When the D500 was introduced I read a lot about it and decided it is one heck of a camera, so I bought one. It really is a fantastic camera. I also have a water resistant Olympus point and shoot, don't remember the model number. Nice little camera. I also have a Canon G10, G15, G1X II, SX60HS and a G1X III, which is my newest pocket camera. They sure packed a lot of features into that little camera. I've read a lot about the D850 but haven't decided if I want one. Maybe next year. I'm interested to see what the folks at Canon offer next. It'll have to be something pretty spectacular to top the D850.
