There are lots of very good information in the Internet.
I see no reasons to subscribe to a magazine if photo information is what you are looking for.

I have subscribed to Shutterbug Magazine for years. I find it useful for bringing the latest in photography to my attention. Most of the photographs presented in this magazine strike me as hackneyed. As well, every issue offers yet another set of photographs depicting youngsters on skateboards or bicycles. In my opinion, the photographs use too much dark space, and they produce only passing interest. If you like ads, then you will find aplenty in this magazine. Recently, Scott Kelby began doing a column for it, and he always has something useful to say. The magazine follows a middle road overall. I will continue to subscribe to this magazine.

I subscribe on Zinio (iPad app). Some interesting articles and lots of neat ads for equipment I don’t need (or can’t afford).

The only publication I receive is Lenswork. By far, the best out there.

Shutterbug is currently offering to its customers a one year subscription for $15, two-year for $20, three-year for $32; the latter comes to $8 per year. You need to consider that most magazines are now owned by large corporations that carefully watch the bottom line, meaning that when X-number of subscriptions is not reached (perhaps 15,000 in this case) the magazine goes out the window. They will reimburse you, if they close. It also means staff reductions, less coverage, and lower quality.

Just subscribes on Google Play Newstand. $14/year.

The internet has a lot of great stuff and you can scan YouTube for many hours, but I like to sit in a comfy place and read a magazine on my tablet. Cheap entertainment.

If they have the money they will repay you. If they declare bankruptcy you are SOL

Been a subscriber for quite some time. Popular Photography as well -- now Boating! As long as Shutterbug keeps the price reasonable, I'll continue, Enjoy it.

You are right, it's not a good idea to take the bait of a 3-year subscription.

I tried Shutterbug for one year and was disappointed so did not renew. The only two photo mags that I get are "PhotoPlus, the Canon Magazine" (a British publication) and "Outdoor Photographer"

I have subscribed to it for a number of years and have had one of my photos in it. It's a good Mag. for the price, but the problem is that I don't have time to read them as much as I would like and yes it's getting thinner and thinner. I have slowly been eliminating Mag. Subs. as they just keep piling up, but as Mags. go it's a good one.
